We do a fair bit of camping around the Townsville area, and we're always keen to try new places. However, when we want something we can trust, we go to Paluma. It has everything,...bit of off-road to get there, fire rings, secluded spots, water, great...More

Ideal spot to escape heat and camp in summer. Lot of wildlife and birds, listen for the cat birds' calls in the evening. Walking tracks continue over both dam walls. Talk to the rangers.

Loved visiting the lake, walking around the area and seeing the wildlife. We walked from the lake up to the lookout, through the Rock Gardens and down to Birthday Creek Falls. Stunning views, wildlife, flora and fauna.

Visited here on a chilly day but the location is excellent. Looks like a beautiful place for camping. BBQ facilities excellent as usual in Australia.

We spent 3 nights in this wonderful place. We had a camper trailer which fit perfectly in our site with the annex out. It was a really well presented camping area with clean toilets. Despite the rain on the first day and through to the...More

What a fantastic spot for a refreshing swim and picnic. A few stairs but otherwise right next to the car park, toilets and picnic ground. Would definitely go back and recommend the drive.

So lovely. Stopped for dip in Little Crystal Creek. Easily accessed. Lots of spots to dip. Beautiful scenery and such a refreshing experience. Highly recommend.
