Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We travelled to Cape Cleveland Lighthouse crushing with Sea link ferries on a 4 hour trip, the staff were very attentive helping some aged travellers, some of the adult children were in attendance to share their childhood memories. The views were special, the sunset on the return trip was spectular. We were served a free drink & nibbles on the return trip. On arrival we were met by a barge for transfer to the beach, the staff were wonderful. The road to the lighthouse was a surprise at a 45% climb there was a ute on the beach for thoes who couldn't do it alone. Townsville volunteers served coffee & scones on arrival ( delicious ),the tables & chairs provided for the travellers were so old & dirty I believe they were unsafe.
I BELIEVE IF SEA LINK ARE USING THIS FACILITY THEY SHOULD INVEST IN SOMEPLASTIC TABLES & CHAIRS

30 minutes across the bay is the quaint Cape Cleveland Lighthouse and a couple of buildings where the lighthouse keeper and family lived. Lovely scenic trip with some moderate exercise if you choose to walk the hill ( there is a vehicle if you don't).
The best part of the trip for me was meeting a lady that lived there. She told us about her childhood experiences living at the lighthouse, personalizing the experience for us.
Highly recommend

Cleveland Bay Lighthouse is just south of Townsville and is reached by a 30min ferry ride on a sealink Ferry. Passengers are transported to the mainland by a barge and then there's a steep road to the lighthouse. This is a strenuous 15 min or a ride in a ute. On arrival we enjoyed coffee/tea and lovely scones. On the ferry we enjoyed a video by one of the families who lived there, and members of that family and other previous residents, were available to answer questions about living in a remote community. Some people took the opportunity to enjoy a short scenic helicopter ride with views of a rugged coastline and beautiful beaches. A point for improvement would be to have means to aid elderly people up into the ute as they hadn't considered the limitations of arthritis or knee replacements.

The views from the top were amazing. The history of the lighthouse was interesting as well. The staff treated me like family. Special shoutout to Liam for a great day!

Quaint little lighthouse perched atop the rocky cliffs. The view was way better while fishing out the front of it. Some very interesting geology going on here too.
