Exceeded expectation. Highly personal experience aboard a lovely vessel with a kind, gentle and experienced crew. All safety guidelines met with the freedom to be seated where you felt most comfortable…in our case on the bow enjoying spectacular views of Townsville, Magnetic Island and Cape Cleveland as the sun set against the backdrop of other boats enjoying the water. A complimentary bubbly was the icing on the cake. Jimmy checked in regularly to ensure all guests were comfortable and gave ample warning of manouevering the boat or shifting the sails. Easy to book, well communicated and timings were prompt. Absolute value for money. Looking forward to going again!

Casual Fare was a small yacht with 4 guests, Cptn James was extremely patient with me and professional when a wind blew across quite suddenly. I love a bit of choppy water but James jumped about getting sails sorted and 1st mate Pete took the wheel. I felt quite safe, it wasn't the best weather with stronger winds but as it calmed and we had a glass or two of bubbles, Cptn James and 1st mate Pete gave us a sensational sunset cruise. I absolutely loved it, It is a *must do* sail with Casual Fare while in Townsville. Remember Casual Fare at Townsville Yacht Club

I booked this trip as a surprise birthday gift, however not only was it cancelled the day of but it got cancelled only a few hours before departure. The option to refund or rebook was present but I do think that the very very last minute handling of things should be improved considering that the weather really was not very bad at all, and if it was expected I think a warning should be issued. Additionally the boat was handled by the owner and his son. The instructions given was to meet at the marine and we ended up wandering into a restaurant/bar where they staff expressed some discontent in regards to this being a reoccurring issue. If you want an experience that is "homey" and very much like going out with your buddy's sailboat that has not been improved much since they got it, meaning it is more yellow than white.. and the drinks are served from beige plastic cups.. then this is the trip for you. James greeted us well but I will not describe this by any means as the trip I was expecting concerning crew, boat nor overall experience.... especially considering we did not really move anywhere at all more then exiting the marina and drifting about... I am sure many people will have a lovely experience however I did not find this to be like I expected in the least and therefore unfortunately not worth the price.

We are currently in wet season in townsville.
if you didn't know the weather can change suddenly and damage things like sails and other things including passengers and boats.
I do everything I can for the safety of my passengers and crew. I contacted you at 11am which was 6 hours and 30 minutes before departure so not (very very last minute) as you state.
As for the color of the boat The top side of the boat the deck and seating area is actually painted a beige colour, and the hull of the boat is white. I guess you didn't realise that.
As for crew on the boat my son is trained and legally allowed on the boat as a paid crew member. We are a family business after all.
That day the wind was 15 knots so we were sailing not drifting the engine was turned off, I don't know how far you was expecting to go in a sailboat that does 6 knots speed maximum in such a short time.
My boat is my home, so homely feel is great thats what i want my customers to feel like a part of the family. I have lived on my boat for 8 years, so it is a home. Everyone's welcome on board.
The instructions to meet at the side metal gate closest to the bar which were sent you when booking.

Awesome way to spend a lovely sunset. Cosy sailboat with complimentary sparkling wine Tour around the harbour, viewing the busy port while taking in the fresh air and gentle breeze. Great service and highly recommended to do while in Townsville.

James took us on a lovely relaxing cruise off the stunning coastlines of Townsville and Magnetic Island and we took along our own platter box and drinks to enjoy as well.

Book this sailing trip only if you want to get deeply disappointed about the operator cancelled your trip. Not too much to do in Townsville, we booked this short sailing tour then got the message from James, there is not enough passenger for lunch cruise, we are put onto list for the sunset cruise. On the day of sailing trip got another message, saying the son of him became sick, tour cancelled.
So disappointing and highly unprofessional. An operator shall arrange replacement personal for any occasion. I read reviews from earlier, tour was cancelled many times.

An absolute MUST to do if you’re in Townsville and looking for something a little bit special to do. I booked the sail to surprise my partner, and he absolutely loved it. We were spoiled with Bruce & his guitar, just a beautiful way to spend an evening. Such a relaxing afternoon with wonderful company, the perfect way to kick off a night out.
It was so good to be able to jump on the boat from Townsville & not have to go to Magnetic Island First.
Thanks for having us on board James, we will most definitely be back!
