Overview
More
The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions. Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one. Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

This beach is the pits, and I’d be devastated if I came all the way to Australia and told this was the beach. Definitely go up the road to Burleigh or Coolangatta.

We loved the walk along the beach which is so close to the city. On one hand you have a long beach, on the other there are high rise buildings. Be prepared to have many other tourists accompanying you around this place. If you are...More

Rightly named Paradise. Lovely serene beach - safe for swimming and pretty clean. We did Surfing lessons on the beach with much ease despite not knowing swimming. Relaxing is just a pleasure on the beach

After ten years in the bar industry to walk into this place is just appalling. First of all the door staff didn’t treat me, half Asian, and my friend, blond German, the same way, secondly to have to pimp out your staff like prositutes to...More

Lovely well maintained beach. It's so magical when walking here just before sunset. I found the water lovely, but then I'm here from a Wellington, NZ winter!

It's been 5 years since we were here. Unfortunately it was too cold this time of the year, but that didn't stop us from hanging out .

This is the busiest beach in the Gold Coast popular with tourists and locals. Plenty parking but difficult to find a space on busier days such as over the weekend. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area as well as toilets, showers etc. Great...More

Our experience is that you just leave your stuffit in a bag, take a swim. Nerver ever lost anything. The Australians are very honest and nerver heard about any steelings.
