We booked with Adrenaline, but the flight operated by Balllon Aloft. Very good experience though we were a bit confused on the Breakfast option. It was at the Italian Club which was OK. But not not the hinterland. The Ballooning itself was great. I have read reviews on folks whinging about helping repack the Ballooon. Well don't wear Reboks and Givenchy in a Balloon expereince is my comment. The whole event was great. We got lucky it seems with the weather. Other folks tried 5 times to get a flight. Wind, Rain, Fog can stop you flying for safety reasons. So book early if you are visting the Gold Coast as you may need a few morning attempts.

Friendly approachable crew, knowledgeable and answered our questions during our flight. Weather was a bit hazy but that didn't take away from the flight experience. Ticked off the bucket list, and will do this again in future with family.

very disappointed by the poor customer service and bad business practice. I was given a gift certificate for my 60th. with Covid affecting our way of life, like most business owners I moved into survival mode. My certificate was due to expire so I called to make a booking. when asking about social distancing issues in the basket I was lectured about ballons flying under civil aviation laws therefore not being affected by the pandemic rules. Very little effort was made to find my certificate and I was redirected wrongly to Red Ballon.... After a few days I called back and another person easily found my certificate but then proceeded to explain that I should have taken the flight before the expiry and not just make a booking. I now would have to pay an extra $ 100 to be able to redeem my voucher that already cost $ 598. There is no mention of this rule on the certificate I was given. just a certificate number, a phone number and an expiry date. Given the circumstances of this year, extensions on vouchers should be common practice.

Wow - what else can I say? Everything from the knowledgeable driver to the amazing flight over the Gold Coast hinterland where we could see Brisbane and Surfers Paradise in the distance. It was unfortunate that the wind wouldn't allow for us to fly over the Gold Coast itself but you can't help the weather! We would seriously love to do this again and I would do so in a heartbeat. Thankyou for a great trip - it's worth getting up early for.

This was a terrible experience from the get go. The voucher clearly states be at the Mercure in Carrara by 3:30am sharp or we will be left behind with no refund. Didn't leave until 4:15am because of some mishap with another group/bus not showing up and some problem with an ipad. Merv the rude and grumpy driver continued to answer his phone throughout the painful trip to Jimboomba while loudly announcing to the whole bus that something was wrong with the bus and that it wouldn't go up hills, not to mention telling us all how late we were and that we would miss sunrise. The balloon itself was average but that's nothing to do with the pilot, he was fine and did a good job. Just a disappointing view of new housing estates and dry scrubland with the sun well and truly up. Icing on the cake was when the disgruntled Merv rocks up and demands us to help pack up the balloon while giving the Chinese people on the group extremely rude looks for not helping. What did we pay $600 for?... Doesn't say anywhere that you'll be driven by some disorganised and angry old man, flown in some bum f*** no where town and forced to pack up the balloon at the end. We get back into the bus and with no communication driven to Surfers Paradise at 8:30am because we were late to land and meant to drop off some of the group by 8am to Mantra hotel... Finally get back to the Mercure for our champagne breakfast to find out we have to sit at a table with a few others from the group much to the hotel staffs dismay and confusion so we just left. Honestly one of the worst and most expensive 6 hours my partner and I have ever wasted.

Oh no Zoe! I am so terribly sorry to hear of this experience. This is really upsetting to us. I actually know the exact day this happened on and we did have major troubles with two of our buses. Strangely they both had mechanical issues in the one morning. On further investigation our mechanic discovered that they had both been filled with bad fuel, which blocked the Deisel Particulate Filters. This sends the vehicle into "limp mode" where it cannot drive to normal speeds. I apologise for Merv's grumpy attitude, although this situation has never happened before and consequently placed a lot of stress on Merv, that is no excuse to relay his frustrations onto you. I can assure you we will be addressing this with Merv before his next day of working with us. Merv is actually one of our best drivers, and as you will see in other reviews here, he is usually incredibly kind, professional and fun. Our guests love him! So I am perplexed yet, determined to ensure this will not happen again. The packing up of the balloon is also optional, it is a part of ballooning tradition which most guests love to do, but again, if this message was not delivered clearly and you were encountering rude service, I can understand your upset. It looks like the whole morning was a completely horrible experience for you. The "run around" at breakfast time happened from the problem with the buses as well, one bus down. There would usually be a second bus to take different groups in their different directions. What a mess up! The timing obviously upset not only the gorgeous morning flight all our guests usually expereince, but also the breakfast arrangements as well. Again, I am so saddened to receive this review. It is completely unacceptable and this is not how our company operates. We pride ourselves on our professional yet fun service, as well as our amazing flight destinations. One of our values is "what matters to you, matters to us" and this most certainly was not the case for your experience on this rare day when things just didn't go smoothly. I apologise again for your experience, we would really love the opportunity to make it up to you. We would be most grateful if you would give us the opportunity to talk to you personally so we can see how we can rectify your major disappointment and compensate you and your partner accordingly. We would love to offer you a complimentary second flight so you can see how incredible Hot Air Ballooning on the Gold Coast with us really is, or discuss any ideas you might have towards rectification of your day with us.
