Well worth a stop as you enter Rockhampton, take a photo and get some traveller information for your trip north. You can even straddle the tropic of Capricorn.

We expected Rockhampton to make more of the tropic. The spire is nice but its position is difficult to photograph and there is not much else there.

Highly recommend stopping in here for information about the local area. Can help with info & stories on not just Rocky, but Capricorn Coast (Yeppoon, Byfield, Emu Park), Keppel islands & surrounds, to the central western region (Carnarvon Gorge, Blackwater, Emerald & the Gem fields)....More

Good for a photo and an icecream from the visitor centre but nothing special is just a land mark for the tropic of capricorn which runs through here.

Always a great spot to get a photo as this is where the Tropic of Capricorn passes through Rocky. - The staff at the information center seem to have all the info a tourist might need as well as plenty of brochures .

This is the official marker of the Tropic of Capricorn which runs through the city of Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. The marker delineates the Temperate zone to the South, and the Tropic zone to the North. The visitor center provides maps and guides for interesting places...More
