It pains me to write this review as myself and my husband had a wonderful experience here previously.
We were all going to be holidaying in Port Douglas in April so in February I arranged a 3hr spa package for my 2 daughters and their partners while we are there on holidays. This was going to be a very special gift to them from me as they are all hardworking and deserving of a relaxing morning. Making the appointment was difficult as I was wanting to do the preliminary arrangements by email as I work from 6am for up to 12 hours per day and as I work in an office full of men, corresponding by email is preferable. The Niramaya admin were not happy about this initially and were quite rude in their responses to me - only worrying about me supplying credit card details. I persevered and eventually they agreed to make the preliminary arrangements by email. Two appointments were made, credit card details supplied and then unfortunately in late February I had to reschedule as the accommodation I had booked had cancelled & we had to make new holiday dates. On 6th March Niramaya changed the date to early May and I received a confirmation email on 7th May for each booking , confirming that the date had been changed.
I excitedly dropped them there this morning, only to be called back by my daughter and told that there was only 1 appointment made. Apparently the person who changed the booking had made an error, but she wasn't there today. I cannot express our disappointment enough. I forgave them for their rudeness at the start and now they had destroyed my $1200.00 gift.
Our holiday is nearing an end so it is impossible to find somewhere else that can fit in a 3 hour package for 4 people at such short notice. Niramaya were practically booked out for the rest of our stay - they could not fit them all in at the same time, different times for both couples were offered as an option but that was not suitable for us as we had other excursions booked. The spa bath section of the package was offered complimentary if we accepted the disjointed times but that is hardly an asset when we can already sit in the spa for free at our luxury accommodation.
I'm not sure what is going on at Niramaya but I don't think it is the same owners as last time we went as it was a very organised husband and wife duo and booking was very efficient and smooth.
I know you won't care less but you have ruined what was going to be a very special day for my family. We will never return or recommend. Instead of worrying about getting customers credit card details as the first thing, concentrate more on getting your admin in check.

Today I went with a friend to Niramaya Spa for the special local deal (1 hour massage + lunch) the massage was amazing and the therapists very professionals, but the recepcionist Mia was rude with us, she looks at us from the head to the toes, she said that the hotel is 5 stars and they have dress code. What did she mean? I've been plenty of times having breakfast and lunch in the restaurant next to the pool and no one told me this before.
After the massage we wear the robes that were in the room and 3 different people told us that the robe is only for clients staying in the hotel, we completly understood, but they said that we are allow to go to drink the COLD tea after the massage with the robe on. When we went upstairs the same recepcionist came to us and told us AGAIN that we are not allow to wear the robe, I said to her that they shouldn't have the robes inside the room if they didn't want us to use it.
Mia discriminated us, because we speak with an accent, but we have been living in Port Douglas for more than 2 years. I hope no one else feel like us, it was a shame.

Best massage I’ve ever had in my whole life. Couples massage to the sounds of birds and cool breeze kissing our skin. The perfumes in the oil were a delight to the senses. The most memorable thing was the therapists touch! I’ve never been so relaxed!

We loved our stay at Niramaya. Our family of 9 stayed in a 5 bedroom Villa and had such a fabulous time.
The villa itself was just breath taking when we entered the photos do not do it justice, it is very open with high ceilings and extremely peaceful with the sound of running water everywhere.
It was spacious and clean and the pool was a massive hit with the adults and children.
We used our resort credit for breakfast daily and were surprised at the level of service was excellent.
The day spa is a must the girls that treated us were lovely and the surrounds were beautiful.
We are already planning our return!

After I got a masage (which was incredible by the way), the masseuse gave me a lost of stretches to continue to use to help me with my persistent neck and shoulder pain. The staff were very friendly and professional. It was a very relaxing experience and id recommend it to anybody 😊

My sister and I spent a blissful 2 hours indulging ourselves with the Tropical Dreaming Package which consisted of a massage and facial each. So relaxing (think I dozed off a few times throughout) and we both left feeling totally at peace. What an experience and treat!

I wanted to get something special for my mum & dad while on holiday from NZ in Port Douglas.
Niramaya Spa was recommended by
Emily @ The Daintree shop information centre.
I can’t thank the lovely lady who answered my call & fitted my parents in .
My folks are humble & hardworking they have had a few massages etc over the years however both said this was the BEST EVER,
Professional they were not made to feel rushed & were treated so very special.
It was an hour massage & i added a half hour facial . At $ 590 this is on the expensive side however I was grateful my parents absolutely loved it & it was an incredible experience.

I love the ambience of Niramaya Day Spa .Secreted away in the resort is a quiet space settled in the tropical gardens .Ive visited so many times and I’m never disappointed .I leave floating on clouds .
This time I had a 2 and a half hour package beginning with a relaxing massage. Then a pedicure which left my feet baby soft and beautifully polished .I added on a Vitamin C ampoule with a facial and that is definitely worth it .Glowing skin .Finished with eyebrow tint and left feeling fabulous. And the amazing products which are number one in Europe are expensive but so delicious and so worth the price .Thankyou to the team at the spa .This is one of the reasons I make a visit regularly to Port Douglas .Its. Really special day .

i highly recommend a visit to the day spa what a great experience, friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and a great massage. A great place to unwind and de-stress from city life. Make sure you visit early in your holiday so you can come more than once!

Such a relaxing experience, we did not stay in a villa but I spent time at the day spa while my husband was enjoying the pool, bar and food (day pass)
Day spa was beautiful, really exceptional service by Rebecca. I had a facial and have had many over the years and found her skill set to be so impressive. She knew how to use her hands for the best result. She didn’t talk much and just let me relax and enjoy the experience and the amazing view outside of the treatment room window.

Tip:Make sure you have plenty of sunscreen it gets dam hot by the pool!!
