    Absolutely awesome.
This is a spectacular place to visit. Great value. Breakfast with the birds was fabulous and so was lunch with the lorikeets. We also did the swim with the salt water crocs. It was just wonderful. Recommend you look them up and plan to spend a great few days there.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We are delighted you had a great time with us and enjoyed the Breakfast with the Birds experience and Swim with the Salties! Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again soon.

    Super helpful staff
Showed up with my friends dream of holding a koala and it was as achieved! We told them we were staying at Dougie’s hostel and at the hostel is advertised that you get 15% off if you stay in the hostel, they said they hadn’t heard of it but regardless they kindly honoured. It’s a nice park, with several different environment areas. Our highlights were feeding some very cute kangaroo, holding a koala and seeing some very large crocs! All staff were super helpful and friendly if you get a chance to go it’s worth it
Hi, Thank you for this awesome review. We are glad that we could be a part of dreams coming true. We are delighted that you found everyone super helpful and we hope that you can come back and visit some day.

    SWIMMING WITH THE SALTIES
Today we got to swim with the salties. We were in a small section behind very strong glass with big al and physo the salty crocs. You went into the water with a snorkel and viewed them from under the water. You could watch them being fed from a pole and come out of the water to try and get the meat. It is certainly a unique experience .I loved it and got some great shots on my underwater camera as well as some above water pics. It's well worth a look see
Hi, We are delighted that you had a fantastic Swim With The Salties experience and got some great footage. It really is a special encounter. Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again soon.

    Just another
I wouldnt say fantastic but that is just my point of view. Only say that as I feel , once you have seen one you have seen them all. So upon saying that, nothing spectacular about this place. It was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly. Few empty areas , animal free. Be good for kids.
Hi, Thank you for your review. We are saddened to hear that we couldn't "wow" you with some of your free roaming animals in their recreated natural environments or even our Swim with the Salties experience. We are happy that your found our staff friendly and the areas clean and tidy. We appreciate your feedback as we will keep trying to be the best we can be.

    A very good morning outing
An excellent morning or afternoon outing ... Most of the birds and animals wander freely among the visitors .. A great place for getting photo's .. Personally I wouldn't bother with the extra attractions , such as Pretending to swim with crocs .... Its not worth the extra ... Be aware it's very hot and humid in there , take water .. When you pay for your ticket you also get free return entry for the next four days, which is something I made good use of as I like to photograph the birds
Hi Chris, We are delighted that you have had a wonderful time at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas and we able to experience the free roaming animals. The Swim with the Salties experience, which allows you to come face to face with these awesome crocodiles is a very special experience. We have had only amazing feedback from it. Thank you for your review and we hope that you can come back and visit in the near future.

    Good crocodile presentation
We last visited the Wildlife Habitat some 10 years ago and had fond memories. Maybe that was why the visit fell a little flat this time. We expected to see more colourful birds and had hoped to see the cassowaries being active. However, they were both hiding in a corner doing nothing. Not the fault of the business, but disappointing nevertheless. The crocodile presentation was well done, with content for both children and adults.
Hi, we are sorry to see that you felt your experience was flat because the Cassowary were just standing there. Although we are unsure of your expectations we would like to point out that this is in the nature of this beautiful endangered species. We do have a Cassowary presentation each day and guides may even offer you the opportunity to feed the Cassowary some of its favorite foods. This can be a fantastic interaction experience. We are surprised that you were unable to see any colourful birds but they do have a large space for them to fly around. Some of the species that call Wildlife Habitat home are the Red-collared lorikeet, Rainbow lorikeet and Scaly-breasted lorikeet, Double-eyed Fig-parrot, Cockatiel, Eclectus parrot, Budgerigar, Pale-headed rosella, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo to name only a few but we do have over 75 species of birds. Our Breakfast With The Birds option allows you to be introduced to some of these birds by a wildlife keeper and may be a great option for any future visits. We are delighted that you loved the crocodile presentation. We appreciate all you feedback and will continue to work hard to provide an amazing and memorable experience for all.

I gave Sydney Wildlife 5 stars (and well-deserved too) but Port Douglas Wildlife is in a higher league entirely, largely down to the extra space they have, which they have used do well. It's a brilliant small zoo of just Australian wildlife: koalas, kangaroos, crocs (big!), wombats, cassowaries, bats, lots of stunnningly beautiful birds, lots of insects, lots of reptiles, all up close. The only zoo in Queensland where you can actually hold a koala (adorable but surprisingly smelly). Loved it! I have recommended a visit to every other traveller I've met here, it's that good. Note that the ticket price gives you repeat visits for 5 days. Bargain!

Small animal park but filled with so many animals, bird's and critters of all sorts, the kids loved it. Had a friendly little parrot land on my shoulder for a hello while walking through the bird enclosed area. We were there about 1.5 hrs but could easily stay 2-3 hrs

We had breakfast with the birds and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The breakfast was tasty, plentiful and well presented. The keepers were friendly and informative. Even the koalas got in on the act. Afterwards we toured the park and were really impressed. Totally recommend.

This is a terrific place that everyone should visit when in Port Douglas. We had not seen very many animals in the wild during our Australian's travels so we were keen to see them any way possible. The habitat focuses on Australian animals including a variety of birds, casowaries (which are really difficult to see in the wild), koalas, various reptiles, and crocodiles. A large portion is comprised of several covered aviaries, so you're out there with the birds. There is also a "savannah" area where you can walk right up to kanagroos that are accustomed to humans. The facilities are in tip-top shape, the staff super helpful, there were several brief feeding talks we sent to, and even the gift shop is a cut above. This is truly one of the best zoos we've been too.

We recently had a lovely experience at the wildlife habitat port Douglas. We were shouted ‘Breakfast with the birds’. The birds were extremely entertaining and the breakfast excellent.…….even the vegetarian was well catered for. After breakfast we spent the next three hours strolling around the park looking and learning about all the habitants. A thumbs up to Paris who was so pleasant and knowledgeable. It was a great experience and we just loved it.

We had a lovely time. We went to all the talks and presentations which were very informative. We sat down in the Cafe for a coffee and the friendly parrots came over to say hello and a cuddle and kiss. And a taste of our coffee. The park is well maintained, the animals are not caged and the staff are all very friendly and informative. Great place for children to learn about native wildlife.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The animals looked very happy to be free and roaming around. I would recommend getting the turtle food and feeding them in the lake
