If you want to see the Port Douglas water ways at your own leisure, this is a must. We took a 4 hour adventure which included us seeing Crocodiles and catching a few fish. Sue was very helpful and the cost is very affordable.

Great 4 hours cruising up the river. Lots of bird life, crocs and fun fishing. After an expert and super friendly pre-chat with Sue, we were sent on our way…and a great time was had by all. Highly recommended.

Iain was very helpful, clear with the do’s and don’ts.
If you have a couple of hours to spare this is a must do even if you don’t want to fish..

We had a great time meandering up and down the water inlets of Port Douglas. Sue at the boat hire office was an absolute star and very welcoming. The boat was all ready to go when we arrived, including fishing rods and bait and esky with ice. The whole family had a fabulous time and we even saw a crocodile in the mangroves. A highlight of our visit to Port Douglas.

Husband and I had a great experience. Met by Sue at the Port Douglas jetty, having booked the boat over the phone with Ian. These two people were very kind and attentive. We hired the boat and fishing equipment (including bait) and we were able to buy insect repellent (which is a must) and cold drinks etc… but we were warned by Ian so we brought these with us. Both the boat and equipment were clean and in good working order.
Sue gave us a thorough briefing and instructions… we had no doubts and left with confidence.
Took all advice offered and had a beautiful glorious slow putter along gazing at all the beautiful boats (small ships) on our way down the river to the secret fishing hole, which is actually the smaller arm of the river near the golf course (don’t tell anyone, it’s a secret!)
We planned to try our luck there and then motor back trying other locals on the way… well after we hooked and then released our first 10 in minutes we decided to stay there. After hours of competition, my husband won… but I did catch the biggest barramundi.
Needed to keep reapplying the insect repellent (tropical strength) and I still came away with small insect bites, which were gone the next day. The fishing was so good, we didńt get time to drink and eat any of our supplies. I highly recommend this activity, especially if you like to try something a little hands on and away from the crowds. Glorious location, views and all round good time, especially when you catch the biggest fish!
PS you need a minimum 4 hours as time flies… so don’t cut yourself short, especially when the fish are biting….

We didn’t see any crocs but this was still a relaxing and fun activity. Sue was really lovely and explained everything we needed to know well. This is not the most thrilling boat ride but rather a very calm and chilled way to explore the mangrove inlet. We decided to take this tour in between two days out on the reef and spent the afternoon after the boat ride strolling through port Douglas. A great day!

Thoroughly enjoyed our two hour slow meander on the estuary. No crocodiles spotted but we did land a few fish. Good fun and easy to drive even in low tide. Sue was super friendly and efficient and gave us good instructions on how to navigate and use the boat. Definitely recommend.

Having seen the boats when out on a cruise at the start of our hols, we booked a pontoon boat for a couple of hours on the last day of our hols. Very relaxed operation and great value for money. No boat licence required (although my son and I both have one). Easy to operate boats with 9.9hp engines. Lots of add ons available including fishing gear, crab traps, bait, drinks etc. We were fishing in the estuary that morning so we just went for a family cruise and to look for crocs. Thankfully the tide was out and we saw a couple as well as plenty of bird life. The boats are only allowed to meander up the estuary and care has to be taken at low tide. Plenty of info given at the briefing and they have an app for recording croc sightings. If you are going fishing, be prepared for sand fly bites. Wear long sleeved clothes and long trousers and bring repellant! We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of hours on the water and it was great to see more crocs up close.
