Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is a lovely view of the length of 4-Mile Beach from the lookout at Flagstaff Hill. Quite a steep and narrow drive up the hill - our group came up in a bus and that is not recommended. Next time I will try the foot track, which passes through rainforest and looks as though it would be much more satisfying.

I have lived up here for over 3 years and only recently managed to pull over and stop to take in this view.
My reason for never stopping is that the road is soooooooooooo dangerous so you really have to be careful pulling out.
The view was lovely and it was a gorgeous sunny day to boot.

You really do have to stop off here and take in the view. Quite beautiful and a good photo opportunity.

Well worth the effort to get up to this lookout as the view takes in not only the beach and headland but the scenery behind in the form of rain forest. You will also see the houses nestled in the rainforest close to the shore.

Didn’t plan on stopping here, were taking one last drive around Port Douglas before heading to Cairns. I have never seen such beautiful aqua green water for as far as the eye can see, just gorgeous.

...by so many ugly buildings built by their presumably obnoxious owners, with some literally jutting out into your line of sight over the beach. Money does not equal taste, obviously. The view from the top is still very impressive but it’s definitely best approached on the winding path from the beach to avoid as many of these monstrosities as possible.

You can either get to this lookout up stairs and a path from 4 mile beach or on a path (and road) from the other end of Macrossan St.

We drove up here on our last day , wow what a view , glad we did do it . Quite a few others were there , so we all took it in turns to offer to take photos , instead of people trying to do selfies with this amazing view in the background .

We went for a nice afternoon walk along the coastal path from 4 mile beach. The views were amazing. It is a bit uphill but not that bad and definitely worth the views!

Trinity Bay exceeded our expectations of an Australian beach, with tropical rain forest, mountains, shoreline and sun-kissed ocean all in one spot, very few other tourists around (since it was Australian winter), and an invigorating panoramic view of one of the most breathtaking coastlines we have seen anywhere in our travels!
