Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been on 4WD off road for exploring rain forests. Our guide and service provider Steve was of good knowledge making our trip memorable. Though we expected the off road for 77 Kms actual it is of around 30 Kms. However had wonderful experience, Thanks Steve.

We went on the sea kayak tour and had a blast! Wayne took us and another couple out near Thala Beach and we spent the morning watching turtle heads breaking the surface - truly magical! Wayne is one of the best tour guides we have ever had; fun, knowledgable and straight up lovely, he made the whole tour a truly enjoyable experience. We had a great time out on the water, a relaxing swim in an idyllic spot and even managed to make it back in time for the end of the buffet breakfast at the hotel.

The owners of the company are amazing, they made booking this tour a breeze even while they were overseas on holiday. We even got a personal email from them checking we had a great time on the trip afterwards. It’s great dealing with “people” and not big companies as t makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Great customer service, would highly recommend and if this tour was anything to go by the other tours they offer would be fantastic as well!

Excellent day going up to the bump track mountain biking.

A really great way to get up into the rainforest and see some of the sites. Really friendly team. As well as acting as a guide I was also given some commentary on the forest and also on some of the wildlife that we saw while we were out.

Would highly recommend a mountain biking day in Port Douglas, and highly recommend the adventure tours.

Would highly recommend this. Barney and Michaela are an ideal team and ensure that the experience is really good. All of the equipment is excellent and the locations stunning. There is nothing like riding through a wilderness with all its sights and sounds expertly interpreted.

Absolutely amazing experience mountain biking through the forests and hills above port douglas on top of the range Giant anthem / trance mountain bikes.

Great little extras such as iced-water in the provided camel-backs and snacks along the way.

I'd swam in Mossman gorge the day before, which was great but crowded with tourists... The places that Barney and Wayne brought us to blew Mossman gorge away.

After riding a few really good trails, we left the bikes and hiked a few minutes up a river to a spectacular waterfall, where we swam and lazed about for a while.

Then some more exciting and technical biking to another river - this time a network of smaller falls and pools for more swimming and some food.

Finally, some more biking back down to the van and dropped back to the hotel in time for lunch.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants to explore some off the beaten path places around Port Douglas and swim in some amazing water holes.

Thanks a lot guys - it was a major highlight of my week in Port Douglas!

My wife and I went out with Barney for a beginners’ tour on the two bridge trail and part of the bump track.

The scenery is gorgeous and the tour was organised very well. Everything you need is provided including helmet, eyewear, gloves and a camelback - just make sure you’ve got clothes you’re comfortable getting muddy and decent, closed in shoes. Plenty of snacks and water available, too.

You’ll need to have some familiarity with a bike - this is not an activity to learn to ride a bike, it’s learning to ride a mountain bike.

Barney will look after you otherwise and was really good at working out your level of skill and fitness.

Finally, the mozzies were extremely persistent and there was no shortage of them, either. Make sure you’ve got plenty of aeroguard or bushmans on, or you’re going to get eaten.

Went kayaking wirh Barney and Wayne two days in a row. Did a small 2 hour sea kayak and a full day kayak to snapper island. They are just full of knowledge and they're enthusiasm makes the trip so much enjoyable. All equipment is properly maintained and they never leave you on your own and always had your safety as first priority.
We only had 2 other guests on our tour, which was perfect, a nice small group. Very reasonably priced.

We took our teenage son and daughter on the 2 hour kayaking tour around the headland at Port Douglas. We had such a good time that me and my son signed up for the half-day mountain biking tour on the Bump Track the next day. We were not disappointed! Had an excellent time, would love to do it again next time we're up here.

The staff at Port Douglas Adventure Tours are a great team - friendly, funny, helpful, and very knowledgeable about local history, geography, flora & fauna. Thanks guys for a great weekend!
