Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very interesting place.

Lots of stalls.

Cheap to expensive and everything you could think of.

Be careful if buying animal products. We are from New Zealand and knew that crocodile goods needed an Import Document CITES as they are on the endangered species list even though they are farmed in Australia.

We were offered a photocopy of the documents required but didn’t trust it so didn’t buy.

Buy these goods from a reputable store.

Great food hall, mostly Asian food but very tasty.

Has bar facility in restricted area also.

Well worth a visit.

We went 2 nights and saw new stuff each time.

Something here for everyone.

The night markets were bustling with stalls and souvenirs. I purchased lots of beautiful, locally made souvenirs. I had the best massage of my life at Carley’s and I enjoyed my 15 minutes at the fish foot spa.

The Royal Harbour Night Market is a wide collection of goods and services, often referred to as the Cairns RH Night Market. Apart from the garments, souvenirs and bits and pieces on sale, the Night Market also has wide variety of restaurants with differing cuisines, consumed at tables in the middle of the market. We bought two Asian cuisines, one was Thai and the other was Japanese, Hero Sushi. The Thai take-out Pad Thai was delicious, as was vegetable curry and chicken. The Hero Sushi was tasty, it was a seafood bargain of Japanese food. We ordered so much we took the remained back to our hotel. The Night Market is near the center of Cairns, it's always interesting wandering around.

There are many shops with nice tourist items and souvenirs. The shops are cute and the items are well priced. There are also several food and beverage options. It is nice to be able to walk around at night and shop in a safe environment. It was a nice surprise to see pedicures and foot massages available after a long day walking around!

We visited a few times during our 5-day stay in Cairns in May 2024.
A Food Court, and a busy indoor Market with about 100 stalls.
We purchased some items from various stalls (clothing), and had a Thai Massage, and had 30 minutes with our feet in a fish-bath (ticklish, but great at the end).
Recommended.

If you’re going to buy souvenirs from your trip to Cairns or Australia visit this market before spending money elsewhere. I found items that I purchased at half the price.
Take your time wander around and compare. You will get the most for your money. Also located there are many massage and manicure, pedicure stalls.

If you ever find yourself in Cairns, you must visit the night market. We were there for four nights and returned each night. We shopped, ate delicious food, bought clothes, jewelry, and even got massages. It's an awesome place! A fun place to walk around. Right in the heart of town.

The night market is aimed at tourists wanting CHEAP souvenirs or Aussies needing a massage after walking around town. Also a busy food court.
The few quality stalls were selling opal and pearls, and a shop for prints on wall tiles( classy, not cheap).

Some of the reviews of the Cairns Night Market are unflattering. We went for the food and found food stalls a wide selection of very tasty acceptable food at good prices. There is also a bar serving good chilled beer. We have been back and will go back again.

The other market stalls are little different from the stalls at e.g. Paddy’s Market in Sydney, where you can also buy a great selection of souvenirs and get a massage but where the food choices are not nearly as good. So why so grumpy? Maybe the reviewer went in the off season or on an off night.

OK. The Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, the great Market in Budapest and the Market in Ho Chi Minh City are bigger and better and DIFFERENT. But that’s no reason to miss out on a cheerful evening of good food & drink and maybe a bit of tourist dink to remind you of a Good Night Out.
