Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did the tandem adventure package (jetskiing and parasailing) and it was so much fun! Most of us were beginners on the jetskis but our leaders (Steve and Kye) were very patient and experienced. Jetskiing was so exciting and the scenery was absolutely beautiful, a perfect spot to go jetskiing. Parasailing was also beautiful, we all felt very relaxed and safe the whole time. We were also provided with cameras each to take pictures while parasailing and then could purchase pictures for a very reasonable price. Would strongly recommend to a friend

You can see crocs at a number of places in Cairns but never up close and in the wild, in there natural habitat, no fences, untamed - and numerous different sightings. It was a simply sensational experience and an absolute must do if you're in Cairns. It's also very reasonably priced. The flexibility too was great as we were booked in to do it when the weather wasn't great and Steve was only too happy to re schedule on a better day. It's also incredibly exhilarating using new high powered Jetski's that were incredibly responsive and we were even able to get some air. To have the entire occasion captured on camera by the guide was also very special. We did a dozen different things during our stay in Cairns but the NQ Watersports team gave us the absolute highlight of our trip. Next time we will be back to para sail!!!!!

We had a blast with Steve on the Croc spotting tour. After zipping across the inlet at top speed, we slowed it down through the mangroves and saw 3 crocs - including a huge 4.5 metre boy! Steve took some great photos and was really personable sharing stories and pictures well after our time was over. Highly recommended 😊

Would never recommend - Multiple changes in booking times leading to cancellation. They seem to highly overbook,, change times last minute and cancel without much notice. We made plans - they took booking, got paid - then changed time and on the day of the actual trip, sent cancellation notice. Highly unreliable and very unprofessional. Avoid like plague unless you want to get disappointed last minute

Where do I begin with NQ watersports? They are rude, dishonest, greedy and unprofessional.
We had booked a jetski tour two weeks earlier for the Saturday morning with Steve, the owner, for my 30th birthday. We were told to arrive at 8:50am sharp. When we arrived the employee working in the office (Scott) was surprised to see us and told us there was no record of our booking. He said Steve (who runs the tours) was “sick” but would be okay by tomorrow. We were a little taken back but we agreed to come back the next day at the same time. Scott confirmed Sunday was going ahead.
We arrived at 8:40am the next day only to find NQ Watersports closed. My partner noticed a missed call and voice mail from 10 minutes earlier - Scott called to tell us that Sunday was cancelled because Steve had “hurt his back”.
It was clear that NQ watersports didn’t have the numbers to make a profit from running the tour that day, I would have been fine if they had told us this instead of being intentionally deceptive and giving us next to no warning for our tour cancellation. We were only in Cairns for 5 days and NQ Watersports wasted two consecutive half days of our trip. All this and not even an apology, let alone a call, from Steve the owner.
It seems NQ watersports are happy to take JobKeeper payments to remain open, but are much less eager to offer services when it isn’t convenient for them. I thought this was the entire point of JobKeeper? Apparently NQ Watersports are much happier taking payments for doing literally nothing.
We decided to holiday in Cairns as it was heavily impacted by COVID, but it’s clear some operators are happy getting payouts from the government for doing, quite literally, nothing.
I have looked at many reviews for NQ Watersports and my experience is not an outlier. Steve is aggressive, dishonest and down right lazy. I feel sorry for Scott who is stuck working in a business that is nothing but a drain on the economy. Avoid NQ Watersports like the plague and take your money, and more importantly time, elsewhere.
While I don’t wish any ill on NQ Watersports, this review will probably be obsolete in a matter of months as they won’t remain open once JobKeeper payments are cut later this month...
All the best Steve, clearly tourism isn’t your trade.

NQ Watersports jet ski croc spotting was an 11/10 experience!! Steve was awesome guiding us through gorgeous mangroves to see a croc and then a very generous amount of time jet skiing through the groves and letting us get some good speed if we wished. Definitely worth the money, was a great way to see Cairns as well as have a blast. Thanks guys!!

The experience was great, the equipment seemed professional. Communication via phone to try and book was a little poor but can be excused by the fact they had to evacuate the marina at the time (cyclone warning). Booking online was the way to go. The whole parasailing trip took only half an hour with about 10 minutes in the air, while it was advertised as a 1 hour experience, but nevertheless we had a great time and it was worth it. Photo package was $20 which was ok, but it might have been more interesting to take a friend or family member on the boat for an extra $20 to take photo’s of your own with a quality camera.
Overall had a great experience!

I went with 2 friends and we were the only ones on the tour. It was so much fun and Steve went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and got the most out of it. He took us for almost 2 hours when we only paid for 1 and took heaps of photos. We got to go really fast on the jet skis and got really close to a croc on one of the river banks, which was awesome and so unique being on a jet ski. Would 100% recommend this if you’re in Cairns.

Unreal experience, better than I expected!
Booked two single Jet Skis for my partner and I and had the most fun from my whole trip to Cairns!
Can 100% recommend driving a single jet ski so you can have more freedom and fun.
Staff were awesome and talked us through everything before doing it.
Jet skiing is as fun as you make it, confidence built up within minutes and personally maximised my experience!
If you have a crap experience it’s because you’re being a crap person.

We booked a tandem guided croc spotting jet ski tour and had an absolute blast. The team were friendly, funny and very informative. You could tell there was a passion for what they do and making sure all visitors had tons of fun, safely. The scenery is stunning and although we weren’t able to see any crocs this time, we still had a ball. The skis were perfect and with me being a big bopper, was still able to hit 80+ kmh on the open water. I would definitely recommend NQ Watersports to anyone visiting FNQ. Thanks again guys!!

A tandem jet ski is $160
A tandem parasail is $160
A solo jet ski is $90

The best thing to do is the Adventure Package which includes parasailing, jet ski and tube ride.

A solo package is $185 for all 3 Activities,

Steve

Hi,
I am Nihari and I will be travelling with my 9 month old soon. Can i bring my baby along with me to do parasailing? My hubby and I could take turns watching her while the other enjoys the adventure? Is that ok?

Sorry for the late answer. Just give us a ring and we can organise no worries as long as the wind is not too Strong,
regards,
Steve.
