About
Muddy's playground is open every day of the year between 9am and 7pm (including public holidays and weekends). Sections of Muddy's are closed for maintenance on Tuesday and Thursday mornings until noon. Even when maintenance works are being carried out, Council aims to have at least half the playground available for use. Muddy's is a modern, fun, safe, splash playground and parkland. It incorporates active, passive, interactive and educational facilities with a combination of play equipment. Muddy's playground is themed "Life in Trinity Bay" and the playground includes water play areas plus a flying fox, sound chimes, track ride, rope bridge, slides, play houses, story telling areas, see-saw, trick track and puzzle games. Please note that the disabled-use Liberty Swing uses the MLAK national keying system. For access please ask at Muddy's cafe. Muddy's has two toilet facilities one at the north end of Muddy's near the cafe and one at the southern end of Muddy's. Muddy's has barbecues, picnic tables and an on-site cafe.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So many young mums with cute kids and babies ... it seems this is the place for play dates, and it is hardly surprising as the playground is extensive with many different water splashers and puddles to play in and climbing frames. The coffee is excellent and the range of breakfast dishes extensive. Obvious effort goes into presentation and both the dishes we had - corn fritters and the vegetable dish with garlic mushrooms - were both very tasty.

The park is fantastic with a wide range of swings and rides to capture kids imagination, such as a spinning tunnel and two well sized water play areas. Lots of tropical gardens and sand underfoot. Nice and shady. Muddy's Cafe is in the same area which overlooks the water area, and is very popular.

Great spot for the kids to have play- there is a huge water play area so either take the kids in bathers or make sure you pack a towel to dry off. Well maintained and there are toilets onsite. There is also cafe onsite serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Would definitely recommend to families to visit.

I could not believe how this place has changed.
What used to be a public toilet block turned playground cafe used to be a great place for parents to grab a cheap coffee and bite to eat while watching over their kids.
Now it's turned into an overpriced 'hipster' style wannabe restaurant delivering poor quality food, long waits and terrible attitude/service.
Take yourself a packed lunch/snack and coffee to the playground. Don't give these greedy owners the satisfaction.

Kid: as a 11 year old none of this was particularly fun. All the things suited to my age group were over-crowded and full of screaming kids with friends. I don’t really like talking to people and asking these parties for a turn seemed daunting I just kinda loitered while kids got on and off stuff springing for a quick go to spin on a log before I got bored. The littler kid area seemed fun and less crowded but one sign said I wasn’t cool if I sat on a frog statue I left pretty quickly wouldn’t recommend for solo kids who don’t want to join a big group.
Mum; kids under 10 you will have a blast older kids maybe not

This was the first place we ate after getting off the plane.
We walked along the esplanade and straight into this cafe.
We ordered the seafood platter which was one of the more disappointing choices we made.
We waited for over 20 minutes for our meal and when it came to the table we noticed the fish was cooked in a lot of batter/oil. The seafood was quiet heavy to eat. The staff forgot to include the calamari and when I went up to advise them they found the calamari near the stove. They threw the rings back in the oil. I asked if that was for me and was advised it was. I said it had been sitting there for too long and I expected something fresh. The staff were not impressed and made it known with the faces they pulled.
The other staff behind the ice-cream counter seemed uninterested and unfriendly.
This is a great place to be able to watch your children play but would not recommend for eating.

While tables were busy, the wait times were horrific. We decided to take away food and drinks. The shortest wait for anything to take away was a 15 minute wait for a smoothie. It might be good if you want to stand around and play statues, but not good if you just want to eat or drink something.

Muddy’s is clearly the place to go and be seen with your latte in your runners with your dog. We went for mid morning coffee and it was packed. Service was quite slow but given the popularity this is not surprising. The Muddy’s complex includes a child friendly water park so it seems family friendly. I would say go when you’re not in a rush, and if you have dietary restrictions clarify these with the staff in case the wrong fruit ends up in your cup.

10/10 place for kids! Bring bathers and change of clothes kids loved it. Water was cold but on a sunny day that wouldn’t be a problem and it didn’t stop our kids from getting wet anyway.

Right on the waterfront, this playground has something interesting for every age group. Water play, climbing play equipment, all safe and well maintained. Fenced off areas for toddlers and a great cafe for when you get hungry or need a good coffee.

There’s no parking area for muddies, just road side parking, which is free for 3 hours at a time.
