Cathy of North West Outback Safaris Australia took my husband and me on the most incredible adventures we've ever experienced. Within moments of meeting Cathy, it was clear she had the deepest possible respect for the culture, ecology and history of Australia. Her lifelong experience in the bush was evident in all of the knowledge she was able to share with us as she helped us explore the Daintree rainforest and surrounding areas. It was beyond my expectations in best of ways. North West made us feel like family, and with Cathy's close ties to the community, we were able to see sights that left us in awe. Cathy and her team accomodated all of our requests, going above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy! As soon as possible, we plan to return to Australia from the states to have Cathy guide us on more adventures. Thank you North West for the 2 beautiful days that gave me memories I'll cherish forever!

I found North West Australian Safaris through a web search, I was keen to travel early October 2022. They were quick to respond and seemed to have an appreciation of what I was looking for. So off I went on the small group 4WD tour to Cape York.
Our local guide Ian's commentary was outstanding and gave me a wonderful insight into the history of the local and cultural region of far north Queensland. He was incredibly knowledgeable and full of personal witty stories.
I adored camping in the bush and waking eager the next morning to explore and get on the road again. The accommodation was varied which is typical of an isolated region.
If you asked me the highlight I wouldn't know. Swimming in rock pools, under waterfalls, photographing wildlife or standing on the tip of Australia. Definitely ticking of my bucket list.
The food was well presented and tasty. Being a Coeliac on a restricted diet was taken into consideration. Nothing was to much trouble which I greatly appreciated, made life much easier.
I thoroughly recommend this tour and thank Cathy (owner/operator), Ian the rest of the team for a trip of a life time. Thank you so much.

The 15 day Cape York Camping trip with North West Australian Safaris was the trip of a lifetime. The itinerary and knowledge of drivers/tour guides was second to none. The authentic 4wd driving took us to places not available to bigger vehicles. The 6 nights not in tents was appreciated, and the last night in the Daintree accommodation was magnificent. Travelling solo I made new friends, and will hold this very special trip to the Tip of Cape York, Thursday island, Horn Island and Roko Island as a once in a lifetime opportunity.

What an awesome incredible day packed with Local information. We saw the natural habitat of many species, A croc guarding her nest on Cooper Creek, mega enormous fruit bats settling noisily after a night hunting, king fishers , numerous birds and mangroves hiding frogs and snakes.
Cathy had incredible local knowledge “ from her back yard” and shared sneaky hidden HUGE spiders with webs across our path ,enormous bugs crawling up tress plus unspoilt private beaches and the elusive camouflaged Cassowary bird , all a real privilege to witness. We tasted locally grown tea, homemade ice cream , from Bettys Floravilla ice creams and lunch was locally caught fish . Hand feeding rescued Wallabies was a real treat too . Absolutely loved every minute and Cathy made it special.
