Pickup and the day was great. Very friendly guide and a lovely group of people to tube with. Would have been a better experience if I had a tube with a bottom on it.
I was given a bottomless tube because I am a larger lady and initially I thought that was a lovely gesture. However I was soon to learn that it was extremely uncomfortable and because you sag in the tube my bottom hit every rock going down the rapids.
The next day I could hardly walk and the bruising was amazing.
Expect a rough ride with the rapids and then a lovely relaxing time floating. Overall I would definitely do it again in a bottomed tube and I would do it again with Aussie Drifterz 👍

Pick up from north beaches was a plus for the early morning start, and no additional costs.
Guides Levi, Kyle and Dan were informative and looked after us well.
Nice relaxing morning in the water.
enjoyed it and would recommend, priced extremely well for what you get.
Plus the scenery is just beautiful.

Kial and Tom were great guides.
Kial gave clear informative instructions.
He made me feel safe and even managed to get me to jump from the bridge!!
I would go tubing with them again. Oh and rescued me when I fell out of the tube ..... twice!!
Very enjoyable day trip.

Tubing experience was ok but too short. I don’t regret doing it but wouldn’t recommend it. It was ok but not worth the price.
Website talks about 2 hours but in the bus on the way, they said 1h-1h30mns. The water was also quite shallow so often stuck on rocks. The tube and especially the shoes are way too old.
It took us 2 1/2 hours from pick up to getting to the site. The group was too big for the number of helpers. The young people managing were out of their depth. One of them cared more about his looks and wrestling with his mates than looking after the guests and making sure people were safe.

Enjoyed this experience with my wife and 4 friends from work. It was a great day on the water and crew did a magnificent job looking after our needs. Water was a bit low but we will go back again when the flows are up. This is a must try and extremely exciting.

Thankyou to James and Andrew we had a great time today. We went to places we never would have found by ourselves and went tubing for the first time. This is a great way to see this beautiful part of the country in a small group with two instructors. Plenty of fun for older teens and adults.

This was fun and safe. The guides were excellent and made the experience great. The bus was a bit old and grotty as were the helmets and life jackets. The rapids are very gentle and perfectly suitable for kids under 10. Once again I would like to shout out the guides who were friendly, funny, great communicators and kept the whole thing very safe.

Saw the previous reviews and just had to chime in. We had a very different experience with our guide.
Pete, our guide, was truly horrible. It started with the van pick up. He became irate when one of the passengers called to find out if they could bring a 3 year old. He just went off about the "stupidity of people". When we picked up the guest, he just launched into her straight away. We were just stunned. Also on the van ride, upon finding out all of his guests were from Sydney, essentially told us we were all idiots for living in the "concrete jungle" and how much better and happier his life has been since he moved to Cairns from Sydney. Pete- from your anger, short temper and judgemental nature, if this is you "happier", I would truly hate to see what you were like when you weren't happy.
Things did not get better on the river. He gave little direction and constantly lost patience with the guests- particularly children. Instead of getting in the river to show them things, he would continually scream at them. All of the parents in attendance were stunned and shocked. My daughter was trying to figure out the rope swing and commented, "remember when kids would try to figure things out on their own." It was a judgemental insult.
Pete spent most of the time in the river on his phone. The guests all spoke amongst themselves about him and his highly inappropriate actions.
Finally, when we were waiting for him to bring the van back, one of the children took a piece of sugar cane from a nearby farm. When Pete returned, he became irate and told him that some farmers would "shoot him for stealing their sugar cane." He said this to a 9 year old boy. Should the boy have taken the cane? No- but to tell him his actions may get him shot is beyond comprehension.
These are just a few examples but I could cite so many more. Stay away from this activity and Pete. Someone with this attitude and contempt is downright dangerous- you would never want to be vulnerable with him as your driver or guide.

My aim is to show people this amazing place in a safe and fun manor which I have done with many happy customers and no incidents since I started Aussie Drifterz seven years ago. Sadly, this wasn't the case for you. Let's be honest, I wasn't having the best day, I admit that. Sometimes it's hard to stay happy and patient all the time in the tourism industry with its so many variables, but seriously though, your choice of words make a huge exaggeration of everything day. I obviously insulted you somehow and for that I am genuinely sorry, as my intentions for expressing my joy of leaving Sydney are of a positive nature. I truly believe life is easier here and actually want people to be happier. In regards to the 3 year old, you forgot to mention that the lady asked if the child could travel in the bus on her lap. Minimum age is a standard question but this was a bit different, never the less I shouldn't have made comment, my mistake. Launched? this is a powerful word really, given that I only asked Anna where she was from and told her that we didn't transport kids that way here, as you mentioned, she was from Sydney. As for your daughter, I am a firm believer that children need to experience things for themselves in a safe environment, which she had, that's just me. Some people just don't understand each other, their humour or gestures, that's life. I definitely didn't mean to offend you in any way. If you wish to rate my tour low, that is up to you, but I think that your mean and hateful review was uncalled for. All said and done, I wish you a happy life and all the best.

We had a blast tubing down the Mulgrave River. Its is apparent that the Carlos, Marco and Ash love their jobs and doing what they do. Its a great family experience and was a perfect afternoon half day for us. You will get wet, you will have fun and it is a thrilling experience. Bring dry clothes to change into. Do wear sunnies or hats or anything valuable you are on a flowing river. The safety instructions are important, I did fall out and came way unscathed. The children 14 & 18 loved it and loved watching mum and dad do an adventurous activity.

What a spectacular way to spend the day! Firstly, I contacted Aussie Drifterz about running a tour on the 7th (they only listed even number days at the moment due to COVID) however they were more than accommodating to work around our dates and run a special trip on our sons birthday! Isabel was extremely helpful and couldn’t have made that process easier! Legend.
We spent the most incredible afternoon on the river with Andy. Now, his gig wasn’t easy. He had 2 older adults, one who has just had 2 knee replacements and needed a lot more time to walk out to the launch site. There were also 2 children and 2 additional adults - he needed to be everywhere, at all times! He did it like a pro!
He was a champion, made the day so fun and his knowledge and obvious passion for the area made it really informative as well as heaps of fun!
We absolutely loved tubing, it was thrilling, relaxing, cooling and memorable and something we’d love to do again the next time we visit Cairns. Thanks for a ripping day!

Are the dropoff times accurate? I plan on reserving the morning tour with 12 o'clock dropoff but I want to make sure that'll have time to make it back to my hotel/hostel to shower, check out, and catch a rideshare to the airport before my flight at 2:20. Also if anyone knows how long it takes to get through the airport in october then that would help a great deal. Thank You
