Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cliff and Kelsey were welcoming and informative hosts to their land. The art they showed us was astounding and we felt privileged to be able to view it within its natural and rightful setting. The trip was great fun. Highly recommended. We will be back to experience more next time

Roger worked closely with us to design an itinerary that suited out group's needs perfectly. His intimate knowledge of the area and connections with all of the products and experiences we visited meant our tour far exceeded all expectations. We look forward to doing this again some time into the furture

Right from the first contact via phone with Culture Connect, we were given good information as to what to expect. The tour from point of pickup to return to our caravan park was well organised and very professional. Both the tour driver and the traditional owner who was our guide made us at ease and were very knowledgeable. Both were more than happy to answer any questions. We thoroughly recommend the trip to everybody.

The full day tour out to Normanby Station with Culture Connect is fantastic. Not only is there so much to see and experience, but to learn about the culture, way of life and history of this part of the country fascinating. The traditional owners are so welcoming and we really enjoyed being in their company. Roger does a great job of delivering a very intimate experience.

We were picked up out our hotel in cooktown. The knowledge that Roger talked about on the drive there and when we arrived was outstanding. The 3 brothers were welcoming and are so hard working to make this adventure work . The drawings are incredible and the stories that Pano tells us were chilling. Great tour well organised . Great lunch with the group and our hosts.

Vince was a great guide to this amazing experience. He was friendly and informative and led us along the river bed, across the river and through the rocky land to the art. It can be quite an emotional experience to feel the presence of history and the ancestors who created these expressions of their lives in this land.

My husband and I recently did the Half Day Rock Art tour with Dylan. We were collected from our accommodation in Cooktown and driven out to Normanby Station, a cattle property run by his family. The rock art is culturally significant, and Dylan showed respect to the sites created by his ancestors. We were privileged to be shown these sites as they are on private property, and we gained understanding of their significance through Dylan’s stories. At several sites photography is not permitted, but when the reasons were explained, it is understandable. The sites include realistic paintings of animals and humans that are amazing. We were allowed to photograph in 2 of the galleries, which was sufficient. We highly recommend this tour as it enables the visitor to see that indigenous culture is lived, not just artefacts in a museum.

Thanks for a great review.
Im happy you enjoyed your time with Dylan on his homelands of Normanby Station.Yes Indigenous culture is best experienced on country and is not just artefacts in a museum.
Thanks for your understanding of no photography at some of the galleries...Im sure the images of the mystical figures in those galleries will be etched into your memory for a long time.
Thanks again and I hope you enjoyed your time in North Queensland.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us, we learnt so much about the Australian Indigenous culture, saw exquisite rock art - some 5000+ years old - and learnt from the stories shared. Also had the opportunity to see how these switched on brothers are protecting their land and the reef through their conservation efforts.
I was a bit concerned about walking in, but the walk was not as hard as I expected, and viewing the rock art was well worth the bush walk in and out.

We had a fantastic day, being picked up from our hotel in Cooktown early and then spending most of the day on the tour.
In the morning we trekked to see the aboriginal rock art which is amazing to experience as is the walk through the bush to see the sites. After lunch at the Normanby Station, a cattle grazing station run by the aboriginal leaders of the tour, we toured some of the improvements that had been made to the station by the leaseholders & operators of the tour. It was amazing to see the work being done by the leaseholders of the property and gives the lie to the belief that aboriginal people are unable to successfully operate a business. It was great to hear that the current leaseholders will be given freehold ownership in the next few years.
We were also privileged to be taken to a nearby site of an aboriginal massacre in the 19th century. It really made us think how the europeans had forcefully taken over the country & why some of the aboriginal population finds it difficult to integrate into white society.
This is a really excellent tour which should be undertaken by the european population of Australia & international visitors.
An additional comment - we found it very strange that many of the sites around Cooktown & the town itself is named after James Cook. It is high time that we realized that Cook didn't discover Australia as the indigenous people had been living here for thousands of years & that these places should be renamed with indigenous names.

Roger and Vincent helped us learn about aboriginal culture and history. The art at Normanby station is not accessible to the general public.
The walk was not onerous.
