Just come back from THE most amazing 2 days with Johnny seeing the 1st nations ancient rock art ….. Johnny is informative , passionate , knowledgeable, funny and a wonderful human to spend any time with … The adventure starts on the 4wd trip to the camp , the camp itself is wonderful and then the art is just beautiful, emotional and pristine. Evenings are spend chilling having a fire a great feed and listening to the didgeridoo? Accommodation is camping so don’t expect the ritz but that not what this trip is about. Go ,do it and tell all your friend

As a part of our ride with Cape York Mountain Bike adventures we met Johnny. His amazing descriptions of the Rock art and telling of Aboriginal history in the area was very informative. He is a very positive person and was great to get some understanding of Aboriginal culture.

Don't just put this on your bucket list, move it right to the top! Johnny and his offsider Les are great hosts and made us feel truly welcomed onto country. Their pride is contagious. Johnny has a vast knowledge of the history, culture and traditional owners. We were moved by his deep connection and pride in his people and the land. We travelled well past any tourist destinations and over some rough terrain. Johnny's driving was unparalleled. He was calm and confident and negotiated 'roads' that looked to the untrained eye more like a forgotten goat track. We were blown away by the beauty of the camp and the surrounding escarpment. The cute little comforts like the open air (but private) hot shower and toilet with a view are fun. A lot of thought has obviously been put into making it a special and memorable spot. Les, who is learning the ropes, was keen to engage and share his knowledge too. Its clear to see he is enjoying growing into his role and was eager to make us feel comfortable. We not only experienced amazing rock art...and I mean amazing, but also learned where the bush tucker was and some tricky bush medicine to boot. Both Johnny and Les couldn't do enough and were willingly flexible and offered various options of extra activities. The food was yummy, the beds comfortable and the views breathtaking. We did not want to leave! Definitely take the two night stay, there is too much to see, do and absorb. We had time to relax, enjoy the surroundings and take a dip in the water hole below the gallery. This trip is a must do. Thank you Johnny and Les for an amazing and unforgettable experience.

What a totally fabulous trip. The rock art was amazing and it was such a privilege to visit with guides like Johnny and his young helper Les. We were truly welcome to country which they shared with us with such pride. The rock art is older in places than at Lascaux and you can stand where the artist did which is phenomenal. Johnny is a brilliant guide and a fabulous host. Les was great helping me on uneven ground and teaching me to be more sure footed which I needed, he also shared his knowledge with pride showing bush medicine for mosquito protection which smelt a lot better than aeroguard! The bush camp was great, my first time camping but when the only thing I had to do was put my crisp clean sheets on my bed it was very relaxing. I can’t recommend this trip too highly and definitely go for two nights because it is very remote. Thanks so much Johnny and Les it was brilliant.
