'Wait-a-While Rainforest Tours' specialises in small group day and night rainforest wildlife tours. It is magical to be involved in seeing a wild animal unrestricted in its natural environment in the rainforest. We often see platypus, birds, possums, tree kangaroos, insects, frogs, owls, reptiles, various invertebrates and other animals on our tours. As a lot of Australian rainforest animals are nocturnal, a night element and spotlighting is included with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide.

Had the Atherton Tablelands Night Tour and throughly enjoyed it. Finally got to see the Australian animals heard of all my life-- wallabies, platypuses, tree kangaroos, 3 different possum species, bandicoots, echidna and more. Highly recommend this Tour.

In addition to seeing the incredible flora of the Australian World Heritage Rainforests, we also wanted a chance to see the many rare and native animals to the region. As a family of 7, our options are often limited as to paid tours. However, it soon became obvious, after online research and chats with the locals, that going with a... More

Paul was highly knowledgeable, friendly and funny. He knew exactly where to go and what to do - talking all the time and pointing out many interesting facts. The meal at night was delicious, I went with the fish and chips. This is not a hiking trip, it is nice and easy with the longest walk being around 40 min... More

Really good guide, and tour. We saw 2 platypus, and a heap of other cool animals. Good small size nature tour, for Australian's and tourist alike.

Well worth it! The small tour group size, amazing tour guide, and itinerary all provided an amazing experience! It's well worth it to explore the rainforest at night in order to see many of the animals that only appear after dark. Paul, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the area, plants, and animals and this combined with his enthusiasm... More

This day/evening trip was one of the highlights of our 3 week holiday...completely unique experience and a real change from the "tourist" places I was expecting to be taken. Paul was friendly and knowledgeable and very good at sharing his passion and interest in the amazing plants and animals. To see a wild platypus feeding was so special and then... More

I had a great time with Paul spotting wildlife. During my time in Oz I really, really wanted to see a platypus so to see three of them was amazing. We also got to see a tree kangaroo, an echidna, lizards and various other animals. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see native animals in... More

I absolutely agree with Coralie S and Cary B without repeating them.Just to add: nothing special, little bit boaring, we saw only the back of the platypus from a distance in a private area, many of the binoculars were unusable as one side was obscule (I know how to fix a binocular, this was not the reason) only Paul had... So sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the tour as much as other people seem to. I remember your tour and it was difficult to get close to the platypus that day but I cannot control that as it is a wild animal. They are very shy and elusive animals. Seeing one at all is a special thing... More
