Affordable efficient transport to the airport
Great affordable way to travel from the city to the airport. If you prebook and pay online $15 per head. Definitely can’t complain about that. I will say the website was hard to understand but the Central Station Customer Service lady was amazing.

    helpful staff
I sat next to 84 year old lady on plane to Brisbane. She needed to get to Gympie. I walked her to airtrain airport stop. staff took her under their wing and even told staff at Cental when she got to look after her.

Not welcoming of travel lets with luggage.
Signage within the airport is misleading stating the train leaves every 15 minutes but it as every 30 minutes. Once on the train there is no space for luggage even though it is an airport train. So everyone has to sit one person per two seats to allow for luggage.

    Airport to Southbank return.
The Airtrain is quite an easy experience for a visitor to Brisbane. There are platforms directly to the front of both the domestic and international terminals. These go into the Brisbane CBD, through Central Station, Roma Street and Southbank, as well as many more. The fare for this journey has also been greatly reduced, thus attracting more users of the service.

    A1 Airtrain experience
Super convenient way to commute from Brisbane domestic airport to the City. Clean, fast and with great communication on board; delivered by illuminated signage and verbal announcements. As with public transport in all our capital cities, there was an agitated substance affected individual - with probable comorbid mental illness - on board. On this occasion I was very impressed by the way transport staff respectfully managed him safely to his destination.

The professional service provided by your staff.
Once again Railway/Airtrain employees at Park Road - Raj in particular - went out of their way to ensure the safety of passengers. This day my husband was determined to join me on Platform 3 at the beginning of my journey to the Domestic Airport and onto Darwin NT. Raj and his colleagues, in a most accommodating way, enabled my husband to make his way to and from Platform 3 where he happily bid me The professional approach of your staff. goodbye. They provided a very special touch to what could have become a painfully emotional situation. Many many thanks, Johanna

There is no way you should pay $19.50 plus other connection bus for inner Brisbane suburbs ($22-23). Sydney Airport is far cheaper and thats in a significantly more expensive city and the project involved significant tunnel costs, not some far cheaper above ground single track structure. If its cheaper for two people to get an uber/ola from Brisbane Airport into the Brisbane CBD than by train something is really wrong.

Even the people in the office at the airport are rude, and never organised when you go up for the overpriced service to pay. Not sure how Brisbane Airport (who is actually pretty progressive and organised) let this scam operation on to their land.

Hi Angussmmmm, As per my response on Facebook and Google. Our new fares are cheaper with a $15 fare to the City for 1 person. We also have 2 for $28, 3 for $33 and 4 for $40. Have a great day. Airtrain

Terrible experience. Air train station Staff are condescending, rude and are keen to treat people poorly. Have seen them acting in this manner on a number of occasions, toward newly arrived international guests. The best level of service you can hope for is a complete lack of interest in being there. Don’t be surprised if the staff attempt to argue with you.
Please look into the pricing before deciding on this option. For a direct service to the city for 2, you are better paying the slight extra, and taking a taxi, and saving yourself from the experience of dealing with these guys.
If money is an issue and you aren’t in the position to take a taxi, catch the 590 bus from Toombul to the DFO at the airport and take the free T bus to the terminal you need. You will seriously save a huge amount of angst and money.

It is ridiculously expencive. I live on Gold Coast and often my flights are from Brisbane. Now with the corona there are almost no flights from Gold Coast so I have to travel from Brisbane what adds 60 dollars to my trip. Such a ripoff. Other cities in Australia are much more traveler friendly. Also the train have stopped working in city so almost missed my flight. Had to take taxi and for 50 $ and either translink or the airport train company did not want to take responsibility for it as the workers in trainstation said i will be compensated. After many many calls and emails got my costs covered. I hate I have to use their service but it is my only way. There is no reason to charge that mich money for the short trip between Brisbane city and airport. Just a very creedy company

We purchased two seniors off peak tickets and were quoted $25return from the domestic airport to Central.

We had a pleasant day and returned back to the airport to cash out go cards n. We were then told that we were o redrawn. it over $14.00 as it was $19 each way! This must be the most expensive train in the world.

Service was efficient but $19.00 each way, off peak, was unacceptable and I do not expect we willever travel on this train again.

Makes the Sydney airport train look. bargain!

Hi mcdonl, Thank you for your feedback, I have passed this onto our operations team to address. Our service is a private railway that integrates into the South East Queensland network, therefore we do not have peak/off-peak services or concession fares to the City. To purchase a go card you can add $25 to the card but the fare is charged differently. We recommend purchasing a multi-ticket if you are travelling in a group, this would have been $28 for the 2 of you. Kind regards, Airtrain

My plans changed to fly from Cairns to Brisbane today and I had already purchased a very good return train fare from airport to Central. I read the fine print and decided to try for a refund not expecting it. Wow, to my surprise they came right back with two choices; change dates or send my address and they would post two tickets to me for future use. What great service as is using the Airtrain as I do whenever going to Brisbane. I love good old fashioned and honest service and this is it.

Why bother having GoCard integrated in the system if you get charged ~$40 for a return trip? I only discovered this after topping up my Go card, this is deceptive as most cities that have travel cards give you the cheapest price, that's the point of using them. If it's a private company there should be completely separate ticketing.

Then trying to get back to the airport from say, Central most of the entry points are Go card only making your ticket useless. It took me 10 minutes to find a gate with a guard so I could actually enter the station, missing my train in the process and having to wait 30 mins for the next one. For the price you pay you expect the process to be easy but it's not.

Hi simonleep, thank you for your feedback we have updated our fare calculator (https://www.airtrain.com.au/tickets/fare-calculator/) to reflect your feedback and it now shows the go card fare. We integrate our ticketing into the South East Queensland network to make it as seamless as possible but recognise that this was not the case for you, our apologies. I have passed on your feedback to the team at Central Station to work through a solution.

Highly overpriced and does not operate at all times. In past month I arrived late at night and despite the advertisements at the baggage promoting it they do not run after 2200. Despite planes still landing until close to midnight.

Also overpriced, it is cheaper to get an uber or taxi if more than two people to get to the city. This is crazy. If this privatised company cannot provide a suitable service for the community, especially with the Olympics coming they deserve to lose the contract.

It is very overpriced compared to what it should be cost me nearly $20 one way from Roma Street and the train doesnt even service the full timetable, After 1010pm there are no services and no alternatives to get to other stations meaning you either have to Uber or get a private shuttle. If they have a 35 year exclusive lease they should be servicing the full timetable such as the 15 plus flights that arrive after 1010pm. The train is always near empty which goes to show this service is not popular at all and needs to restructured

Hi Mitch552513, thank you for your feedback. Our timetable has been arranged to meet 95% of flights at Brisbane Airport, however, the train network in South East Queensland does not operate 24-hours. Our prices are comparable with transport to/from the Airport, we are a private railway and are not subsided by the government. We recommend next time you travel to book online for the best price.

We used air train after travelling down to Brisbane on the tilt train and we were flying out the next day on holidays, we found the service quite expensive and they do not offer concession rate but it is convenient the staff at Roma street were very helpful and made it easy.
Unfortunately on the way home the conductor at Brisbane airport station was in a bad mood or really just didn’t want to be at work and as it was our first time working out the station and ticketing etc he could of been a little more helpful instead of bellowing out at customers including us, we did manage to work it ourselves but definitely not any customer service like we received at Roma street and that’s unfortunate as most people using this service are on holidays.
It was good but we wouldn’t look at air train to be our first choice.

Decided to catch the Brisbane Airtrain to the airport for a flight with my 1 and 3 year olds. Trains were canceled due to a weather event, which was outside of their control. I had checked the Brisbane Airtrain website, Queensland Rail website and TransLink website. No mention of delays. I had pre-purchased a ticket that day, so Brisbane Airtrain knew I was travelling (and did not contact travellers). No train replacement buses provided either. I had to catch an expensive taxi to the airport. No reimbursement or refund available when contacted. I catch the train to the airport in Sydney and Perth and they are excellent. All my expense and drama could have been avoided if Brisbane Airtrain put a notice on their website or emailed customers who pre-purchased tickets that day.
