Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently took part in this guided walk and was blown away with level of local knowledge. Initially doing the gallery style walk. Loved it so much we went back and did the cafe and bar tours.
I wish every major city had fun guided tours like this. Love love loved it.

It was a great experience and well worth taking this tour with Ariana. It was just three of us with her as the guide. She is a tremendous source of information on a fairly leisurely walk through the city. She gave information with great historical context and pointed out most of the interesting places. She also had a good pieces of advise on places to eat and visit.

We stayed in Brisbane four days and like the first tour so much we did a second and were lucky enough to get the same guide both times. The city tour was a good combination of historical and recent events, city sculptures and beautiful gardens. We were lucky to have a nice group of people from different countries.

We took the recommendation to take the free red boat to the south bank beach afterwards and did this every day after. The second tour was lanes and cafes and our only complaint was that there was too much food! We loved the lamington and the story behind it. Fun but relaxing too.

This is one of the better walking tours I've taken and it's completely free unlike the other free tours that expect tips. The guide Tina, said they do the tours because they want to. It was really nice - it was a smaller group than what I'm accustomed to but that made it more personal and the guide would call us by name when talking to us. I just wish it had been a broader tour- we went inside the, city hall I think (the building in King George Square), and that was alright but I would've rather seen more places in the city.

Hi Kitara43. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your visit to Brisbane. Walk Brisbane offers small group walking tours, of up to 8 people. We certainly love our work, and don't work on a tip basis, but do have a ticket price for our tours.

We had 1.5 days only in Brisbane and thought we would be bored. But the walking tour was fantastic and so interesting! Fantastic art and nice gardens! And the leader made great photos for us! Brisbane was fun after all.

We very much enjoyed this walking tour in Brisbane. With only a half day off from a conference we needed to get out in the sunshine and the three hour walking tour fitted in very well. Our guide was friendly and fun and we LOVED the ferry ride back to the conference centre. The stories told in the city gardens were particularly interesting. A very good use of our morning.

I recently took the City Essentials Tour as a lone business traveller, and can't imagine a more accommodating and welcoming city guide. Ariane is incredibly thoughtful and has a generous spirit, and strives to ensure that visitors to the city enjoy themselves.

Ariane provides lots of history and useful information about Brisbane, however the bits I enjoyed most were really the passing facts that revealed the true character of the city, and its citizens. I loved hearing the history about the painted traffic light signal boxes, the stories of children's bean-pod skis, and finding out about the mysterious white canopies. Brisbane also has lots of public art that it would be easy to miss, and it was great to find out more about what's around - including the Blue Ninja!

The promo material could indicate that there are several great options at the end of the tour to get back to near the starting point, for those who want to - by boat or bike (fares payable locally) or on foot. I really enjoyed the CityCat experience, and it was a great part of the experience.

A lovely introduction to Brisbane that I've already recommended to others. Many thanks Ariane!

We found a brochure for this tour at the visitor centre in the shopping mall. It was a very comfortable walk with no hills and a lot to see. The morning went by very quickly and the guide was very friendly and informative. We found it was money well spent and took the catamaran ferry afterwards which was also enjoyable on a sunny day..

Had a top time doing a tour of craft beer bars and pubs. Our kiwi crew took up a whole session and went to four different places. No hassle, good fun. REcommended.

Travelled to Brisbane on business again and had never really considered what sights there were to see in this underrrated city. So glad that I decided to book a walking tour on my free morning - there was so much I hadn't noticed from previous visits, and the guide was really knowledgeable, but also had some excellent recommendations on where to eat and what hidden gems there were right under my nose that I had never noticed before. Would recommend the tour not only to visitors but to regular travellers that will be surprised on what they learn!
