Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having cruised from Portside Wharf in Brisbane several times we found it reasonable although it is not very convenient if you are arriving from interstate with no car. This was our impression until last week when we had to navigate our way from Brisbane airport to the new Brisbane International cruise terminal located at the mouth of the Brisbane River. While the terminal itself is OK the location is terrible with no public transport available, and a $50.00 taxi fare from the airport which you can see from the cruise terminal. This bumpy dusty road meanders through many kilometers of industrial regions and is a dreadful way for visitors to enter or leave the terminal. We travelled by train from the Gold Coast to Brisbane airport to meet friends flying from interstate and that was a breeze compared to the last bit out to that cruise terminal. We will stay onboard the ship when we next cruise to Brisbane as it is just too difficult, time consuming and expensive to go anywhere. Most crew we spoke with stay onboard for the same reason.

This new wharf has one toilet, at the back of the building with a surprisingly narrow entry - people entering and leaving continually surprise one another. In the forecourt there are no seats, just the wide cement ledges of the flower beds to sit on, many in the sun.(There is limited seating inside but it was cordoned off with no explanation. On return we were told this seating was only available to those in wheelchairs awaiting pick-up.) Impossible to social distance tho the information screen requests it. No food outlets. One coffee stand with 3 industrious lads serving hundreds if not thousands. Rubbish builds up and sits around in plastic bags if the bins get emptied. Long traffic queues to approach. Whoever designed this supposed syate-of-the-art reception area did not seem too concerned about customer experience.

Dock where the boat cruises start. Surrounded by many restaurants and shops. But nothing eye-catching which can be found there.

We recently did two cruises from here, and found that right outside the cruise terminal is a great little shopping and dining area a few steps away. The wine shop has some great specials and you are allowed to bring two bottles on board per double occupancy cabin. It was convenient and a nice walk along the wharf as well.

The viewing deck to see the cruise ships come and go is interesting. It is one level above the small cinema complex. Sadly, this cinema is quite disappointing, the screen is not much bigger than you might find in an expensive home cinema room, the carpet in the middle area is threadbare and the movies cost $17.50 per person on a normal Friday morning! Whilst the movie was good enough (Knives Out), to add further insult to injury, the coffees were nowhere near full and the Carrot cake must have been sitting in the cabinet since before Christmas! It was stale, small and unpleasant. The whole area has so much potential, but something is keeping the people away.

May be a good base for cruise ships but for someone going to the cinema and a meal, it lacked ambience. Didn't enjoy the movie at all by comparison to James Street and struggled to find a restaurant of any interest.

disembarking from a cruise is not a good experience. their main aim is to get you out of the building as soon as possible, offering nowhere to sit at all. once outside we asked one of the staff for directions to the brett wharf to catch the ferry and we were directed out onto the road and told to follow it. 15 minutes of walking down the road and through a major construction zone we reached the wharf only to look to our left and see a wharfside pathway leading directly from the ship we had just left. so unimpressed with our 'guide'.
