Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful place to relax under the big trees by the river. Just hop off the River Cat at New Farm.

I visited this suburban park for the first time in February 2023, and was quite impressed with how pretty the park was, and the variety of activities it offered visitors.

New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s oldest parks. It’s a heritage-listed park, designed by Albert Herbert Foster and created in 1914. The Brisbane River forms one boundary to the park, and the historic Brisbane Powerhouse complex edges the park to the east.

The park provides for a variety of low-key pleasures and interests. There’s open spaces for sports activities. There’s shady areas for picnics; the jacaranda trees are plentiful but were not in flower at the time of our visit, though the poinciana trees were a blaze of fiery red, and very beautiful. The park also has a very pretty rose garden. One historical feature of the park is the bandstand rotunda built in 1915.

Set amongst the giant fig trees there’s an extensive playground for the youngsters, containing swings, rides, a fort and a huge climbing frame. It’s a shady spot for the youngsters to have fun.

There’s some interesting modern sculptures in the park. The park also has barbecues, toilet facilities, and a kiosk for coffee, ice-creams and snacks, though the prices there were bordering on extortionate.

The park is easily accessible. The CityCat stops at a pier on the park’s river frontage, and local buses ply nearby Brunswick Street.

It’s a pleasant spot to visit.

If you have kids, this definitely the park to visit. Leave the car at home and jump on a CityCat or on a bus. Parking around the park and in the park fills up quickly, so not a good option. The playground is one the best in Brisbane. It also has a large rose collection so there is a bit of interest for everyone.

Gorgeous park with the most beautiful rose gardens. We had our wedding photos taken here and they are just gorgeous. Great kids playground too.

Visited on Tuesday 20th September. I hadn't been there for a few years so decided to check out the park. It was late arvo and still busy. It was good seeing the spring flowers on display. Well worth going to check out.

Did the boardwalk from New Farm Park Rivercat to Tenneriffe, then looped back thru New Farm Village for refreshments and thru New Farm Park to return to the Rivercat platform. Nice park with a big rose garden, about 50% of plants first flowering in August.

A brilliant community park. We were there on a sunny Saturday and there were people everywhere - children playing sport, families having picnics and an excellent food market near the Powerhouse. Lots of happy smiling people. Brilliant! In particular check out the market if you're in Brisbane on a Saturday.

Usually a busy park with many families coming to hang out and have picnics. Fresh air out in the open area far from roads is a noticeable difference of this park to others. Not many playgrounds, okay for hanging out and hosting a picnic.

Aside from muddy bits, this is a very impressive large suburban park with gardens, lawns, big trees and decent facilities. The big problem is the cycleway cutting the park off from waterfront access.

It is a park, but really it was just a big open dpace. Would be so much better with some exercise equipment
