- WorldTravla7Cairns, Australia8,645 contributionsReturn to Eat StI returned to Eat St for a social event recently for the first time since circa 2014. It’s definitely grown and there’s quite the carnival atmosphere. I do think the entry fee is a bit much given it is just a market where you pay for everything anyway but I assume there are costs to recover for the live music, cleaning & facilities. I will say it is very popular and sure draws the crowds - pretty impressive for 50+ shipping containers fitted out into food stalls in what was an old abandoned docking site in Hamilton/Portside. Per the advertising “You’ll find everything from pork dumplings to Japanese pizzas, classic burgers to Korean sliders, Aussie fish and chips to snails in garlic and parsley butter sauce, and vegan brownies to cheesecake sundaes.. It has all the buzz of an Asian night market with live music to boot”. The food & tasty treats are indeed plentiful, with so much on offer. We had a large group and had our own container down the back overlooking the river and could go for a walk to get food & drinks and bring it back to our area. It’s a bit of a maze - I entered from the ‘Hello’ entry point snd it took me a while to figure out what was where. There is lots of parking but they sure need it!Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 October 2023
- RodnJudeCanberra, Australia628 contributionsDinner at Eat StreetFirst time visiting for us and we loved the concept of being able to try different types of food in the one place. Bring your wallet with you though as most dished are between $12-$15 each. We tried the salt & pepper calamari, octopus on a stick, bao buns, oysters and brownies for desert. The venue is licensed but drinks are not cheap. We got there about 4.30 so got a table on the river which was nice to look at. Live entertainment, seemed to be plenty of parking (we ubered). Great sport for large groups and kids.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 November 2023
- DavidBo48Cape Town Central, South Africa231 contributionsGet there early…..Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Eat Street. The Website gives a great overview and the map helps planning. Was told it was one of the busiest Fridays and long queues to get in so advice is get there early to get parking and a table. Food was good for a fast food venue and a huge selection of food outlet.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 January 2024
- Carmen G25 contributionsNo 1 thing to do in BrisbaneAmazing place. Had such a great time. Well worth going. I'm going again I loved it that much. Loads of great food and drink places. Don't make the mistake of filling up at the first eating place when there's a queue, grab little bites and sample everything. Bradley MaCaw was playing on the main stage. He was amazing. Fantastic night for 6 dollars. Definitely recommend. This should be number 1 in the things to do 😍Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 March 2024
- ReviewItRachDubai, United Arab Emirates132 contributionsA must visit while in Brisbane! This place is very cool! After seeing Eat Street online my friend and I thought we’d visit. When we walked in we were totally shocked by the whole place! It was huge!! There were so many incredible food options and a lot of entertainment too, including live singers and dancers! You must enter this place very hungry!Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 8 April 2024
- BarrellRiderAuckland, New Zealand98 contributionsBusy place but good vibeThis place is colourful and vibrant. Went on a Friday evening arriving around 7pm, took a stroll around to see what was on offer. Opted for a pork belly meal & a glass of wine from another vendor, pork was lovely. Son had a burger which was OK. There were different musicians singing which was great to listen to. Theres a container selling things for dogs which I loved. No cash accepted to get in, which was marginally disappointing as its only $6 per person to enter, however all the vendors inside accept cash. Very crowded place however, good vibe but lots of people.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 23 June 2024
- mdh969Canberra, Australia1,039 contributionsEat Street NorthshoreWe went to Eat Street Northshore in Brisbane on Friday. There is something for everyone. Plenty of different eateries from all over the world. There were several bands playing and a lot of people. Entry is $6 and we prepaid before going. A QR code was sent to the phone and it was shown to gain entry. Well worth a visit if you are in the Brisbane area.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 August 2024
- ColinSlade37 contributionsEasy going and great entertainment ...Headed out to Eat Street, as recommended by a friend. Interesting, $6 entry fee but well worth it. Different sections catering for difference in live entertainment, all sorts of "street food" to cater for just about everyone. Clean, and simple fun.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 September 2024

As a fan and supporter since Day 11 in 2013, I was glad to hear they were reopening. However, having watched the entry fee rise from $2 to $2.50, then $3, I was horrified to discover they are now charging $5 per person entry fee. This is too much, especially when they are actually offering less than they were last year for $3 per person. Every business has had to adapt and absorb some additional (hygiene-related) overheads but this is just a cash grab. You lost me.

Second time at Eat Street and enjoyed it again. It's interesting as it has some small shops in there with food places and a bar then there's live music and some bars spots sat on the river, which we enjoyed on the evening. There was a wedding happening when we went which was a bit weird but hey ho. We always go and get a chip on a stick to share and then get something each. Chip on a stick only $6 but that's the cheapest thing I think. Other food in the region on 10-20 bucks. There was an awesome dog shop there with pick n mix dog treats... the place is dog friendly anywhere apart from the green astro turfed areas. I think it's too busy for a dog personally, mine would freak out. If you want a table where the stage is for live music get there bang on 4pm! $3 entry fee per person which is ok. It's good place to go to get out on a Saturday night without going too crazy.

Went here for the first time as we were attending the Cirque du Soleil nearby. Firstly, can't understand why you need to pay $3 pp to get in? Then the crowds are such that it was hard to find anywhere to sit to have your selected meal. As for the food, its just your usual suspects which you find at markets etc with prices that make you think you could have gone to a good restaurant and had proper service and cutlery! Yes, there was entertainment but I could see that most people ignored it and it just became background noise. Will I recommend this place - No. Will I come back - No, no!

Uber drivers have good tips. My driver recommended a stop at Eat Street which is built out of old shipping containers. Inside each container is a different food vendors similar to the gourmet food trucks you see in the US. Lots of craft beer, wine and several stages playing live music. The hardest part is picking which food vendors you want to try. I started with oysters and they were twice as good and half the cost of the ones I had the night before at a 5 star restaurant. Great find.

A novel idea to combine shipping containers by the river, splash a lot of colour with a carnival theme and serve street food from around the world.
Parking at location is free, entry was $3 per person, we arrived at 4:00pm Saturday and the crowd was still manageable but be warned as it got busy quickly. All up my wife and I spent approximately $100 together and we shared: dozen oysters, calamari, a tasting plate of barbecue, lamb yeeros and 2 cokes. All consumed whilst listening to music and watching the crowds walk by.
It definitely was a positive experience and kept us entertained for a couple of hours.

This place is amazing with cuisine from just about every place in the world on offer.
Our son took us to Eat Street with his family. To enter you had to complete your COVIDSAFE check in and pay $5 a head.
First stop for us were the fabulous fat oysters. Love the way all the oyster shells are recycled into reefs and the plates and cutlery can be recycled.
Love the buildings made from stacked containers which goes with the original use of the dock area as a container terminal.
The food is great and there is something for everyone.
There were 4 different live music areas. Just loved the kids mosh pit where our 18 month old granddaughter had a blast.
If you are on the Northshore of Brisbane on Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 4 to 10 pm go and visit.

Very disappointing. Was expecting good food and choices. Instead of specialty or gourmet food vans, it was more like the EKKA or Easter Show. We had herb free pizza and bland paella. 3 of us dropped a total of $200+ Will be be better off in a suburban cafe or pizza franchise.

It's way up the river (good ferry services though) and they charge $5 entry, card only no amex, like most places inside, so I was expecting the worst cash-in tourist trap, since the main aim is to get you in to buy overpriced food, but it turned out very enjoyable. It's very popular with a great vibe spanning all age groups, multiple good music and other performances, then while the food is expensive, some of it is good, and then the beers are actually cheaper than in central Brisbane. For something to go out for a few hours of music and booze, maybe food, it's quite good.

We haven’t been for a few months so went tonight. Not enough seating if there is rain, people holding multiple tables for over an hour with just drinks and spare seats. After someone else sat in the container area we sat down with their rubbish and then copped a mouthful because it was the band area. No signs, no block, tried to say a rope was up, it was not, at least 2 groups sat there prior to us due to the rubbish left. People walking their small dogs through heavy traffic areas instead of carrying them which makes you worry about tripping over them. The only food worth eating for us was the poulet and porc burger, every other meal was flavourless, burrito filled with rice and not much else, even the swirly potatoes had no seasoning.
We are still sitting in the car park after an hour in line trying to get out. Absolute joke. $120 we’ll spend elsewhere next time.

Highly recommended to anyone in the area, whether you are a local or visitor. We love coming to eat street. The atmosphere is amazing, great variety of foods and you can even go to multiple places and get small plates so you can have a bit of everything. $5 entry fee gives you hundreds of choices, the biggest problem you will face is what to get!

Has anyone hired the party containers? Just wondering if they’re any good or if there’s enough space for a large group to sit for dinner? TIA

Is there a place to sit and get table service
Written 7 December 2019
Sorry but we do not have table service - we are a street food market where you purchase your food from you vendors of choice and take it to your table yourself. Hope this helps.
Written 7 December 2019
yes. the city cat
The best way to reach Eat Street using public transport is via CityCat. Cruise along the river to Northshore Hamilton Ferry Terminal, from here is it an easy and flat eight-minute walk.

I saw on its website that there are 2 big carparks at both ends with 1200 parking spaces. Is it free parking for all day?
Written 14 October 2017
Yes and they have parking helpers to guide you in too.
We have never had a problem getting a park.

How much is a taxi from the airport to town?
Written 10 September 2017
we are going on Friday, my question is....there is so much to choose from, and we would like to try a little of a lot of things, can you buy very small portions from all stalls? like a sample?
Written 22 May 2017
Have a look around first. I got a burger that was quite small, Indian curry puffs, calamari and a small hot dog. The smaller options are available you just need to look around. I was happy with all my smaller options.
No "sample" size though.

Is Eat Street open daily or just weekends and what hours please
Written 10 January 2017
Eat Street markets are, at present, only open from 4pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights - as it is summer it is probably best to go after 6pm
