This old sandstone building is being built in by Hi Rise buildings on 3 sides - now used as a function centre. Nice to walk around and think of what once was

Wonderful viewed at night time. The historic building on Brisbane's riverfront has been restored to its former glory. It now sports a fine dining restaurant that offers high teas, corporate and special occasion functions. The restaurant has a wonderful interior and a meal here could be expensive. Probably cheaper to view if from the street or the river walk. Along... More

Customs House in Brisbane is for me a wonderful place for lunch, dinner and special events. Recently we went to a De Bortoli wine event and lunch. What a lovely day at a long table with people you don't know but soon will. It reminded me of family times in Europe, after a glass of wine or two it was... More

The place is great, but please do not be fooled by that. Go for a visit to see the building but not to have the food. The food is really just a "wanna be" fancy fine dining menu. Great, grandiose architecture though!

The old Customs House is a beautiful piece of Australian architecture. I walked in to have a look inside after I had admired the beautiful external 19th century architecture. The immense columns and powerful stonework outside give the building a solid, but restful appearance as it sits beside the Brisbane River. Inside it has been tastefully restored, illustrating the beauty... More

The building is very impressive with its Roman columns and copper dome sitting overlooking the Brisbane River. It is part of the University of Queensland and houses restaurants and meeting facilities. Other than its interesting architecture there is not much more to see.

The high tea was a wonderful experience. A beautiful setting and the food was beautiful. There was about 20 in our group and the service was excellent. I recommend this high tea!!

Recently attended a conference for several days at Customs House - hard to really fault anything about it. The venue easily accommodated our participants of approximately 65 people. The food and drinks functions throughout the conference were all excellent, enhanced with the beautiful backdrop of the river. Perhaps the only fault was what I also consider one of its points... This beautiful riverside building is maintained by the University of Queensland, and while I'm not sure if it is open to the public, anyone who has the chance to attend a reception here should do so, if for no other reason than to admire the beautiful architecture.

The original Customs House located along the river in Brisbane has been turned into a dining establishment but it is still possible to visit and have a light meal, lunch or dinner there. It is worth doing so just to see some of the original interior of the building. The food is good but very pricey (expect $100+/person for a... More
