ANZAC Square is centrally located to the shopping malls and next to the central train station. The monuments and memorials are well worth the time to take it all in. Well laid out and a beautiful space to wonder in a busy city.

Such an iconic part of Brisbane and a restful patch of green in the middle of the city. The monuments are superb and the area definitely has spirit you can feel.

There is a need to bring something cool and soothing back to Anzac Square. The removal of the fountain and increase in paving has given Anzac Square a desert reflection type setting. It is simply too hot during summer to sit and relax in the square. Bring back the fountain or increase the foliage. A 'green' feel would greatly improve this iconic centre to Brisbane city.

It is good to remember the men who fought and died for their country. They were husbands and fathers, sons and brothers, men who loved and were loved. They are missed and deserve to be honored - this can be done in Anzac Square. You do not have to approve of war to appreciate it.

Located in the busy heart of Brisbane, there is an atmosphere of peacefulness in this place. Perhaps it is the solemn service that is held there every year on Anzac Day creating an enduring atmosphere, perhaps it is the architecture, and the eternal flame that burns in the Shrine of Remembrance (see photo).

When I worked nearby, I used to come and sit in Anzac Square some days. A good place to reflect on life and think things through. Solved many a problem, came to many realizations sitting on a bench in Anzac Square as commuters hurried through on their way to nearby Central Station.

Anzac Square is a rare place; a sacred public place where anyone is welcome.

A great tribute to the many who lost their lives in wars involving Australians, including Africa, WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. As a nurse, Especially liked the sculpture of the nurse caring for an Aussie Digger.

This is a significant monument providing permanent recognition of Australian service personnel and it allows the visitor to reflect on their commitment, bravery and sacrifice. I entered from Ann Street, the imposing Shrine of Remembrance and Eternal Flame at street level then down the steps to the Square that is tastefully laid out with manicured lawns and various memorials; Korea Malaya Borneo Memorial, World War 11 Memorial, South West Pacific Campaign Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and Queensland Heroes who fell in the South African War Memorial. The Memorial Galleries are located beneath the site.

Brisbane offers a lot of historical paces of interest to visitors. Not only is the part itself of interest, a short walk up the tunnel to the train station reveals many more rooms dedicated to the war memorial and all it stands for.

Thats a very special place for Australians. Around all Brisbane you will find Memorial Parks full of flowers to honor the ones we lost during the war. Knowing its history it is also a way to honor those who died for Australia. Know their names and feel their family lost.
