About
Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall is Queensland's premier shopping destination. The mall has long been considered the centre of fashion and retail in Queensland. This vibrant shopping and lifestyle precinct lies at the heart of Brisbane City and is arguably Australia’s most successful pedestrian mall. The Queen Street Mall offers an unrivalled mix of local, national and international labels and flagship stores. Some 700+ retailers have made their homes here – many enjoy mall and street frontage, others are tucked away inside world-class centres and heritage-listed arcades. A visit to the Queen Street Mall guarantees a complete leisure encounter. Restaurants, cafes, bars, cinemas, salons and day spas, 5-star hotels and a grand casino sit right on the mall. A five minute stroll will see you exploring Brisbane City’s galleries and museums, parklands and our gorgeous riverside.

I guess a visit to Brisbane would be incomplete without a visit to the Mall, we somehow managed multiple visits to the the Visitor Information, restaurants, Shopping Centres, specialty shops, etc. My wife was in her element, visiting most of the shopping centres, major stores and specialty retailers. I accompanied her on a few of her excursions, other times I wandered on my own to view the heritage-listed building facades that still remain, the various sculptures and various outlets that piqued my curiosity. The mall is a vibrant place, throngs of people each day with Sunday being the quietist that we encountered. My favourite location was a seat in the restaurants, enjoying a coffee or snack and just watching the world pass by.

This famous mall is an outdoor indoor experience running for five or six blocks along Queen Street in Central Brisbane. A 15 minute walk from pretty much anywhere in the city, including across the bridge from South Bank, the Mall is a pedestrian only area though stores continue on Queen Street to the North after the pedestrian closure (including the large Apple store. Hundreds of retailers from high-end brands like Channel to small cell phone retail. Make sure you don't miss out on the retail galleries and offshoot malls above and below ground like Myer's centre with its multiple floors. There is an underground bus terminal for ease of access, and food courts abound on side streets. Plenty of pubs and such can be found within a block of Queen Street as well. There's a smallish casino on the south end in the old treasury building. If you are staying on South Bank, just cross the bridge west of the ferris wheel and keep going straight into the mall. You can spend half a day here easily. On weekends, there are buskers and live performances.

It's a shopping mall. If you already live in a major city this will not interest you. If you're from a small town or village you should know you're probably getting ripped off and are better off going to a shopping centre elsewhere

Brisbane's version of the Pitt Street Mall in Sydney and the same in Melbourne.
Lots of shops, places to eat or grab a coffee. Only about 100 m long.
It has good public transport access and an easy walk to the Botanical gardens and the River.
It does however, look a bit tired and could use a refresh

This Mall is HUGE, major designer shops and so interconnected with other malls, unique speciality shops and boutiques we spent 3 hours just walking to try to get a sense of what shops we wanted to go back to shop in. BEWARE of the exits because you can enter a shop.."think you're exiting where you came in" and end up on a totally different street. But that was part of the fun in our shopping trip.
We kept Tiffany's as our main marker and taxi queue. If we could relocate Tiffany's we were good.
Food Courts, eateries, fast food, you name it could a be found in and around the
Mall area as well as strategically place srt work and sculpture.
Who says you cant spend 8 hours in Mall becajse we certainaly did and enjoyed every minute of it

While spending 2 wks in Brisbane CBD from Cairns during the Xmas Holiday & New Year we spent a considerable amount of time up & down Queen St Mall.
There are a good selection of stores / shops, also very convienent location to reach many interesting attarctions by foot.
Overall the Mall appears to cater for all tastes & budgets & there's always some kind of entertainment or amusing activities going on.

Last time I visited there were some renovations happening. These seem to have been completed. Outside Hungry Jacks I did notice a water feature that wasnt there last time.

Its a hive of activity and rather busy and as covid didnt hit Queensland as bad as some of the other states I didnt see a lot of empty shops. (the exception is the Gold Coast where there were lots of empty shops as they rely more on tourism)

Lots to do in the mall with many restaurants, bars and retail.

The main bus station is also located underneath Queen Street Mall.

Queen Street is an experience. It is the cross-section of two streets that forms the mall. Really nice shops from high end to casual stores. A must visit, if one is in Brisbane.

During Summer into Autumn, the weather is great to be walking around. Many eateries along the way, from fast food to really nice el fresco restaurants.

This was just a couple blocks from the W hotel that we stayed at W while in Brisbane. It’s immediately next to the City Hall and King George Square. There are lots of shops and food options here. Interesting for us is that a lot of the stores were American stores and brands. There’s definitely a lot of American influence in the Australian cities. This a nice place to walk around looking in store and have a bite to eat. We did this on the morning that we were leaving on a redeye flight back to the states so we didn’t spend as much time here as we probably would have liked to.

Long walk from the Customs House to George especially with the detours into shops and side streets along the route. Only a section is regarded as the mall, vibrant with shops, restaurants and the many people going about their business or tourists, like us, having a browse. I tagged along with my wife while she browsed many of the shops, finally deciding to meet up later while I pursued my own interests. There are enough high-end outlets to satisfy the more discerning customers while the average customer is also well catered for. Plenty of seating to rest a while and people watch.
