This is the old government house, which was lovingly renovated, but somehow remained unimpressive. You can take an easy stroll to the old government house from the city botanic gardens, which are just next door to it.

At Old Government House for a gala dinner. Two hundred people in the dining rooms makes for a painful experience. The noise levels were awful. (Oh for a sound level meter). The food was delicious and the staff were lovely.

Always wanted to see this lovely old building and was not disappointed. Open House Brisbane gave me the opportunity. It was just wonderful and with a good map and volunteers was able to navigate myself around the house.

We were staying in South Bank in Brisbane and walked to Old Government House. I know there was a free bus in the downtown area so that is something you could get on as well.
