Old Government House, the home of Queensland's governors between 1862 and 1910, is Queensland's most important heritage building. After undergoing a major restoration, the house has re-opened as an historic house museum and gallery housing the works of renowned Australian artist William Robinson. An extensive education program, including guided tours, podcasts and interpretive displays, offers fascinating insights into the house and its role in the early history of Brisbane and Queensland.

What a fabulous grand building, - if only the walls could speak! A great space for viewing things like Miss Fisher's murder mystery gowns etc or to have a colonial ball...lots of rooms to explore and lovely paintings to see.

Old Government House is near the Botanic Gardens, on the QUT campus. It's a fine old building, now part QUT office and part art gallery. Entry is gratis. The gallery is closed on the weekend.
