The tour was fun. I didn't find it scary, though some of the stories were both interesting and gruesome. Our guide was good, with lots of interesting tales of life inside, escapes, executions, ghostly visits by ex-prisoners, and the appearance of a ghostly cat called Tripod (he had three legs).
I'd also recommend them for their great customer service. Having booked a few weeks in advance, one of our party (my 11-year-old niece) became a COVID close contact and had to isolate for the week, just before the tour. The organisers were so helpful in re-arranging another date.
So, excellent customer service, great tales of a darker side of Brisbane's history, and a fun way to spend an evening with friends or family.

So glad we did this tour. Kim did an amazing job of making it all come alive. Filling us in on all the interesting stories of characters who had stayed there. We are listening to podcasts now to continue this macabre journey.

From the time we were locked in to the time we were released.
The tour guide was very passionate about the history and was very clear, distinct and made the Gaol come alive again. (Sorry but cannot remember the name but think it was Kim)
Thank you for retaining and sharing a piece of Brisbane history.

An informative and wonderful private escapes tour with the knowledgable Jack Sim! What an incredible physical landmark and piece of Australian history. So much to learn behind these walls. Our family was intrigued by the tactics, the nature of the crimes and the risk taking by a few of the obstinate and bold characters, the escapees of the goal in the past and the life long difficulties ensued. Like being present in a fiction narration, hard to believe it did actually happen. Jack Sim is a wealth of knowledge and we felt privileged by his insightful inferences. A wonderful experience and highly recommend for families too over the school holidays.

We found this tour of Boggo Road jail very interesting and informative. It was great to see the gaol from the inside and hear the stories of some of the inmates and their predicaments.
Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time on the tour. I went with my husband and two sons (10yo and 5yo). The boys loved going into the cells and the exercise yard. The tour guide was very information and accomodating of all the questions, including those from the kids. There was plenty of time to have a look around on our own as well.

Great history tour by Caitlyn, who has a lot of knowledge. Could imagine there would be a few stories to tell by inmates past and would love to do the ghost tour one day. I remember back in the 80s driving past on the way to work and seeing the guards on the top, was a much larger gaol back then as two of the wings have been demolished and now surrounded by high rise apartments so poor old gaol looks strange surrounded by these ugly new buildings.

You should have no problem walking around the site and I am fairly positive that the guide will accommodate you should you have any concerns....
The only obstacle you may encounter which will definitely be not of bounds is to climb a small flight of steel stairs that leads to a second tier level of cells but you really do not miss much as the second level is a simple carbon copy of the first level....
Apart from that there may be one to two step challenges to conquer, make sure that you have someone escort you by the arm around the site just to be safe....
And make sure you have a good lamp, especially if you are doing the night tour....
