The main attrcation located near South Bank Parklands is the 'Street Beach' where you can enjoy and relax on the artificial beach. In the Parklands itself, you can have a wonderful walk with the path covered by various trees and giving a serene look.

Really well set out. It’s got everything. Water parks, playground, pools, Forrest walk, cafes, restaurants - you name it. Queensland Government have nailed it.

Southbank parklands are amazing, great to see such good facilities for families, swimming pool, playground, lots of cafés and places to eat. All monitored by cameras so a safe feeling for everyone

There were carols from 6.30 pm; different choirs each night, Christmas markets and lights, Christmas films showing at the beach and fireworks on the river; wonderful!

The official answer is "No" for the sand and possibly the whole parkland. You could be fined and/or asked to leave, though I can't see how they could stop you coming back to another area. If you Google images of the beach... More
