The walk along the river here was a highlight of Brisbane. Certain parts are overrun with children, but mostly they stay in the pools alongside the river, so adults are safe if they stick to the paths. There is a market nearby on Saturdays.

The decision to stay in Southbank for our quick 3 day family catch-up was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. My step mum and my 3 brothers stayed in the same hotel as us (Rydges) which was great as we went swimming in the Southbank beach pool everyday, even when it rained! My dd is... More

I've always enjoyed visiting the south bank precinct. There's loads of attractions from sky wheels to amazing art museums and never a dull moment. Our family always enjoys walking along the river overlooking the enticing Brisbane cityscape. There's some amazing new buildings that have captured the imagination with their exquisite modern architecture that are worthy of look. Outside of this... More

I always enjoy visiting South Bank. It feels cooler. Always a breeze from the Brisbane River. Plenty of shade and seats. Can visit the Museum and Art Gallery at same time and even go to a Lyric Theatre Event (Cultural Centre)at the same time. The swimming pool area is safe and life guards on duty. Plenty of eating places there.... More

South Bank is such a great place for a Sunday - or anyway for that matter. The markets are open on the weekend, and they are good markets. Also to walk through the parklands have a swim at the "beach", we love checking out the veggie gardens, and just generally walking through the area. We found the deck chairs yesterday,... More
