What an amazing experience arriving at the Camel farm and enjoying a delicious cup of coffee with Camels milk, then the tasting begun with products produced with the Camels milk - wow delicious. The Feta being so good ! Craig was friendly and very knowledgeable of the area which was a big interest for my parents who were from South Africa. It was a fun, filled day and especially enjoyed picking the carrots and beans and taking them home. Lunch was delicious and the variety was excellent. This is certainly an insight into what the area is all about. The highlight was visiting the Wine Farm in the most beautiful location and listening to Dave and his stories.

Our guide Craig picked us at home at 9.15 am and back at 2pm. He organised the lunch before hand. No queuing for us. The tour itself was good and the hosts very friendly However informative the session was. It would be great to see how the processing of the camel products is done with people doing it, also assisting at a camel milking session would be great for children. And it seems that the riding of camels is not well done. Those are 15mns ride and it went only for 1 hour or so but we were told it Was fully booked. So the 2 hours tour at $25 is probably best value if one doesn't need a guide.

What a fantastic day! Spending the day touring around the Scenic Rim visiting Summerland Camel Farm enjoying some camel milk tastings of their delicious products; visiting a local farm where we were given an insight into the day to day running of a vegetable farm and treated to some fresh corn that we picked ourselves. Continuing on to the lovely little country town of Aratula to enjoy some baked goodies at the local bakery. Then the true highlight of the day, wine tasting and a sumptuous lunch at Karoomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm. Craig was a great tour guide with immense knowledge of the area which really added to the experience. If you’re looking for something to do you must go on this tour! It really is the best!

Grab some friends and DO this. There were 10 of us and we had such a wonderful day. The Scenic Rim is so amazing and beautiful and is right here in our back yards. It was a first for me for many experiences - tasting camel products, eating fresh from the crop (SO delicious!), a tasty, catered picnic by the picturesque Moogerah Dam, and seeing a soap making business (good enough to eat). Craig is a great guide - very knowledgable, fun and accomodating. I say he did a wonderful job - and it must have been like hearding cats! I loved being driven around the district and being guided by somebody who is passionate about the area. (as it seems are all the locals) He looked after us very well. And what a way to finish the day - wine tasting under shady trees with a great story- teller. This really is great value and a great experience. We will be back for more.

We had a girls day out with Craig from Local taste discoveries and it was fantastic day . Thank you so much for a great day. We had a wonderful time discovering the Scenic Rim. I loved that you had water for us and provided bags and pens to put our produce in. The lunch was beautiful and all local produce to plate and sweet treats from the local bakery. You where a great host Craig and really friendly which makes for a great day, loved the history and geography information you gave of the area and took lots of photos for us. My fav part of the tour was the Lovetts farm - picking beans and corn and learning about their farm life and crops. I will be back out again to support your local community.
