Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Looking for something special to do on our recent staycation we were recommended to go to Gin School at the Brisbane Distillery Company in West End, what a fun afternoon we had. Adam was our teacher, for just under two hours he educated our class of eight and entertained us with his wit. On arrival we were served a gin cocktail with a small bowl of mixed nuts to start the experience, for the class to set up their own distil and begin to think about which four of over one hundred and forty botanicals to use in our gin production. Three more gin cocktails and a delicious individual charcuterie box were served as we waited for the magic to happen and to decide on a unique name for our gin. At the conclusion of the class we all took away a 500ml bottle of our own crafted gin, as we had not finished our last gin cocktail in class, we were encouraged to sit out in the very pleasant distillery bar where we learnt reasonably priced drinks can be purchased; only the spirits the distillery produces can be sold. Highly recommend.

I purchased 2 tickets for my partner and I as a gift.It was such a fantastic thing to do. We has so much fun and learnt so much. The gin cocktails included were unique and delicious. The individual food boards were divine. The presenter and service could not be faulted. Well done you guys. Clever, professional, inventive, entrepreneurial. Definitely one for the bucket list.

What an awesome event. Adam was a great teacher and despite us getting through 4 cocktails each during the event he still got us to produce some awesome gin. I would recommend this Gin school to anyone wanting to have a lot of fun while learning to make your own gin. We met lovely people across the table and everyone was having such a lot of fun. Don't drink beforehand though ;-). There are plenty of instructions to listen to so go sober to the event.

Booked a table for 5 people expecting to do a gin tasting, instead you get a list of cocktails and gins to taste? As I don’t Drink gin I was looking forward to trying the Vodka only to find out they didn’t have any.
This is the second time I have been here and the last time was a bad experience.
I won’t be back.

We booked a gin night through The Sebel in Brisbane. It was hosted by Brisbane Distillery Company who supplied the gin tasting at the restaurant. The next day we had a tour of the distillery and got to make our own bottle of gin. A great experience and recommend it. They also have a bar there.

I really wasn’t sure what was involved in making my own gin until I saw the set-up at the Brisbane Distillery Company. After a brief intro and a couple of gin cocktails to get you started, the guide Elle, who was excellent, showed us all the bottles of herbs and spices that we would be able to choose from. There were very clear instructions on how to choose flavours that appealed to us, and Elle was on hand every step of the way with useful tips and advice. We each had a mini still, with weighing machine, tweezers, sealable bag and lots of written guidance... it was like a mini chemistry lab, but fun and easy to use.
Thanks to the excellent advice, we all started distilling at the same time, and there was great excitement to see our efforts come out. In just 2 hours and with the help of a few gins along the way, not to mention a generous serving of nibbles, everyone was delighted with their own bottle of gin.

We got to make our own individual bottle of gin under the watchful eye of the "GinMasters" who stepped us through the stages of selecting the botanicals which would shape the flavour of our personal limited (like, NEVER to be recreated!) edition.
Some fantastic G & Ts to help along the way (using BD's fanatstic own product) and delicious snacks . We were also privileged to get a presentation from the distillery's owner & founder Jon, and he showed us the parts of the larger scale production with pride (great value for the nerds in the audience! (OK, guilty as charged)).
A great way to spend a few hours - there are not many places you can be well fed, brilliantly "cocktailed", AND walk away will 500ml of the most unique gin (your recipe) in the world.

Our host was informative, helpful and patient. Learning the process of making gin as well as the hands on experience of making our own bottle of gin to take home was amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new experience to enjoy with friends. The quality of the food and drinks served during the gin school was outstanding.
