The bus ride from the airport was quick and convenient and the driver was very friendly. However, I was quoted a price of $400 when I pre-booked and was shocked when the attendant asked for $1100 after offering a free upgrade. When asked why it was so much more than I was quoted, he told me about the extra charges including: Fast Pass $(70), Gas ($70), second driver ($70), two extra insurances about ($225) taxes, and a $200 refundable deposit. I had declined the extras when I pre-booked so was surprised by all of the additions. Esteban wasn't very friendly after I declined the extras. His mood changed. When he handed me the new paperwork, he had removed the "free" upgrade. I did not appreciate his attempt to take advantage of me. A quoted price should include everything that will be due at signing. That is why I shop around before I make a choice. Additionally, he was not clear on how to actually pick up my car from the lot. It had started raining hard and when I went out to the car (according to the license plate number on my contract) it did not have the keys in it. I had to go back in to meet with another attendant (Esteban was not behind the counter) and wait while the keys to that car were located. I overheard another customer saying that she too was having difficulty finding her car. She commented to me that the pickup directions were unclear. Although, the car pick up experience was a bad one, the car ran fine, was clean and easy to return.

My wife had an accident with a vehicle in Australia, costs (as per official repair invoice lower than the excess). Full excess taken from our credit card. Ace/Hertz refuse to remit the difference of the value still at this stage. Slow reponses, advised they need to claim the difference of their excess and cost from the third party? i.e. our perception is that they profit from the insurance claim. Will avoid at all costs. Took place in July !!

Never rent from ACE Rent a Car!! Picking up my car was fine, but they never gave me a rental agreement until I returned the car. I later learned that a spouse as a driver is an added charge which I was not told at pick up. We leave and all seems fine, for us to later experience that the car randomly would not start. I tried calling someone while I had the rental to sit on hold for over an hour each time with no one coming to the phone. I reported the mechanical issues when I took the car back and they tried to offer me a 10% discount on a future rental Why on earth they would think I would rent form them again, is beyond me. They are a RIP OFF!! I will spend the extra money with Budget so I can ensure my car is going to run right and that they provide me all the information UP FRONT!!!

I had a very frustrating experience with Ace Rental Car during a recent booking at thier Devner Airport location. I reserved a Grand Cherokee, expecting a good sized SUV that could accommodate five people and our luggage. However, upon arrival, I was given a Gladiator truck instead—a vehicle with an open trunk. The lady at the desk was fully aware our needs and extremely rude, seems to intentional gave a bad choice when I refused her up sales.
When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was offered a VIA Tucson as a replacement later. It’s much smaller. It was snowing and my kids were agitated, so I did not want to argue with them at that moment as I was afraid further argument would be to our disadvantage. This downgrade left us struggling to fit everything in, making our trip unnecessarily stressful.
Ace Rental Car’s handling of this situation was unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who values reliability and customer service.

ACE in denver added $500 in additional services without our consent!!! We have reached out to their customer service and they refused to offer a refund, claiming that the service had already ended. Know that the renter’s liability waiver and roadside assistance is OPTIONAL. They added the roadside assistance without our knowledge, they made us believe the renter’s liability waiver was mandatory and also failed to explain that the price they showed us was PER DAY.

Not recommended. ACE are a third party only, I would recommend booking direct with a car rental company.
We recently rented a car and were due to pick this up from Cairns Airport.
We headed to the airport transfer pick up point on arrival as per the instructions on the app. After waiting a while, with no taxi transfer appearing, I eventually managed to speak to someone who advised the office closed at 3pm and there were no more pickups.

We eventually picked our car up in Cairns the next day from Thrifty, who were the rental provider and they were great.
I was glad our accommodation was close by and we were not relying on the car to travel further that day.

In future I will always make sure I book directly with the rental company.

DO NOT RENT FROM ACE IN DENVER! Soooo poorly managed. After being involved in an accident with one of their rental drivers, ACE has no idea who they are even insured with nor the insurance they sold to the customer. After a week of not hearing from ACE, I spoke with Bailey in customer care - could not even answer a simple question, but did proceed to tell me how MY insurance handles a claim. Then rudely passed me on to a "manager", Nathan who wasn't available. After I had to call back, Bailey says she just saw him and is going to connect me with Nathan. Next thing I know, I'm speaking with Fernando, operations manager on what sounds like a walkie talkie. Fernando with his attitude proceeds to send me on a process through 3 different insurers. It just continues with this company. What a joke.

Guys, please do NOT rent from Ace car rental at sydney domestic airport! Just horrible service!! So rude !!! especially the 2 front desk persons!! I have travelled all over the world for 30 years, and this company service is The Worst !!!

They offered cheaper price but it is not worth the saving! Terrible company !!!

Price was very good (through booking.com) and car was as expected. They spend alot of time trying to upsell stuff, which is lengthy and annoying. Most annoying is that they do not allow you to use your Sun or E-Z pass for tolls. They charge an exhobitant $10 a day whether you use the pass or not. Luckily, where we went had few tolls, easy to bypass. if you are traveling any distance, you need that pass, so get ready for that extra expense. I didn't know that you needed permission from the car company to use your own pass, since I never had a problem before.

Ace/Drivo La Guardia Airport-NY: Please do NOT rent a car here, There are better options! I will not be in the future because I was not picked up by the shuttle, I was out in the cold, then I had a different company radio the Ace guy (it later turned into a Drivo purchase), he still didn't come, I ended up having to pay a different company to drive me to the Ace/Drivo building... while there, there were various unprofessional things going on, then they acted like I hadn't paid with my points, they misrepresented the upcharge, I thought I would just get my points back but it didn't happen, the customer service was supposed to call back and didn't, later they were supposed to call back by a certain time and didn't, then offered me $30 as an arbitrary amount- a pay off- which didn't rectify the misrepresentation, Don't waste your time! Go with somewhere more reputable and pay a couple extra dollars up front, you will likely have a much better day...
