Mt Beerburrum Summit Walk
Nov. 2020 • Solo
You are destined for spectacular views of the Glasshouse Mountains from the fire tower (used to detect and manage fires throughout the surrounding forest) at the top of Mt Beerburrum, but getting there requires some work!

The Mt Beerburrum Summit walk is shortish at 3.5km return however it includes 750m of very steep, concrete track on the way up which had me huffing & puffing. The track is very pretty and starts with wet eucalypt forest and heads into drier open forest as you ascend.

The track was well signed and was very lightly trafficked when I tackled it in December last year making it a peaceful experience in nature.

Beautiful Park but dont climb Tibro or Beerwah if inexperienced
May 2021 • Friends
Beautiful NP with plenty of walks for all ages and fitness.
Unless you are experienced with climbing, stick to the walking trails or Ngungun.
So many rescues at Tibro and Beerwah with serious injuries as these are not WALKS.
You need to be experienced, be very comfortable with heights and exposure with adequate water.
Do not attempt in Wet or Dark for you and the rescue teams safety.

Awesome Mountain Peaks
Jun. 2019
It is the most impressive Mountains National Park on Australia's Eastern Coast. Located just about 70kms from Brisbane, Glasshouse Mountains National Park is a big and beautiful nature Bonsai in the Hinterland region of Sunshine Coast, created by Volcanic activities at least 25 millions years ago. Those dom and pinnacle shaped mountain peaks dominate the lush and otherwise flat landscapes. The secnery is breathtaking. We visited this Park in June 2019, regrettably we did not go for hiking due to the closures of some mountains, as well as our own schedules.
Nonetheless, Glasshouse Mountain Lookout and Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve had provided us with wonderful Panoramic views over the National Park, along with easy access, parking and other necessary facilities. Great experiences. Recommended by me.

An amazing sunset
Nov. 2018
We decided to walk up Mount Ngungun in the early evening as it is cooler, what a difference it made, having done this a few years earlier when it was much hotter. The views are incredible, and providing you walk at a sensible pace it isn't too strenuous. Well worth going.

Tranquility at its best

Hidden treasure of queensland. Never miss this jewel as you drive along the motorway. A good escapade even if you have one hour to spare. The serenity of the surrounding is a bliss especially for those working in the city.

Favorite trek / hike
Oct. 2017 • Couples
The hike to the summit is pretty steep and hard, but relatively short and very rewarding. You definitely can't have a fear of heights and ensure to wear good shoes and have water with you. I would only recommend this hike for fitter or more experienced people. The view at the top is beautiful and amazing. It's my favourite to do, as it's challenging but absolutely breathtaking!

Mt Beerwah Summit
May 2018 • Couples
Achieving the summit of Mt Beerwah you are rewarded with panoramic views of the Sunshine coast and Glass House mountains. The highest of the Glass House mountains at 556m, so you are looking down on Tibrogargan and Coonowrin....so magnificent!
The climb and the return descent are however NOT for the faint hearted (unsure of heights) and a level of fitness is required to enjoy the climb. Would definitely not attempt this ascent in the wet, as you are very dependent on good traction going up the seep rock faces. For those who have climbed Tibro, I'd say that Beerwah is more difficult, due to the longer length of rock face climbing.
The geology closer to the top is magnificent. It looks s though the harder granite/basalt shell gives way to a weathered, softer limestone which the wind and rain has "scalloped" out into honeycomb shapes and patterns......amazing!
It took us 3.5 hrs for the return, including a 30 min stop at the summit.

Can I go by train?
I want to go from Brisbane to the mountains, but I do't have a car, is it good doing it by train?
Thank you!
