It was a surprise to find such a high-quality museum in this tiny town. Lots of big items to see: planes, tanks, guns, amphibious landing craft. Also, more poignant, were the display cases featuring Local Heroes, who went to war from the local area. The...More

Well worth a visit. This museum is well laid out (all undercover) and all signage is clear and well presented. There is an excellent range of static displays from tanks, guns, search lights etc etc to a Canberra bomber. Some of this material is unique....More

This is an interesting and clever ANZAC memorial museum. Get up close to a Bren gun carrier or Grant tank. The Light Horse annex is fascinating. Well worth a visit to this delightful small town. Good cafe and hotel in the same street offer sustenance.

Meandarra is not the biggest town, but its efforts to put together this static exhibit of various pieces of equipment largely from WW2 is staggering, (there is a Canberra bomber, so it is not all WW2) as is its clear depth of appreciation of local...More

Quite a good museum, with an interesting collection of artefacts including a Canberra Bomber, Landing craft and other vehicles, well presented. Meandarra is very small and has nothing else other than a corner store.
