We spent 4 fabulous days touring the outback with Kat and Jae. They were both very knowledgeable about the ways of the indigenous people and the outback. Every day we had lunch prepared in a local park. They always prepared fresh local ingredients for us to enjoy. They took us to some out of the way spots, which was very enjoyable. They were both knowledgeable and professional in conducting our tour. If I get the chance to go back to the Northern Territories again, I will definitely book another tour with them.

We spent four very full days touring Kakadu National Park and Katherine with Kat and Jae. Kat was a fabulous, knowledgeable tour guide who booked us into the best accommodations and made sure we saw all the sights available. We were disappointed that the Arnhem Land visit that had been listed in our itinerary was not going to happen, but once she showed us how the road was literally underwater we totally understood. Kat and Jae arranged some fabulous picnic lunches in the nicest parks, and when we couldn't swim at Katherine Falls because of a closure, they found us an alternative in Katherine that was truly delightful. They provided icy cold water for us to refill our water bottles throughout the day, as well as snacks. I highly recommend Brookes Tours for customized, small group tours. They do well with couples, groups of friends or families.

Our 5 day tour of Kakadu, Katherine and Lichfield was absolutely amazing- better than we could have imagined, with such amazing sites and experiences. The tour was so thoughtfully customized to our preferences and interests. Our guides Kat and Kate were so incredible and accommodating- they really went out of their way to make sure we were all looked after, and their knowledge and expertise were just phenomenal. They were so brilliant with my parents and fantastic with the kids. Highly recommended!!!

We have so much to thank our guide LESLEY for. She knew all the best waterfalls in Litchfield and Kakadu and showed us the best rock art examples. She was very knowledgeable so we also learnt a lot. She laid on lunch every day and always found a shady bench for us.
We went on river cruises, saw crocodiles, Jabiru, Lotus birds and many more that were new to us. Each day was neither too long or too short. Accomodation was not 5 star but we loved it all, especially our very own outdoor showers! We had a fun time and conversation was always easy.

Lesley our guide was well informed and took us to some amazing places. As there were only four of us on the 5 day 4 night tour everything was very flexible.
Viewing ancient rock art and swimming in beautiful waterholes was a wonderful experience.I would highly recommend this tour.

4 of us ventured into Kakadu with our guide, Lesley. She is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and took us to see some wonderful sights, some of which are not commonly seen. She was great company and really helpful to one of us who wasn't as confident on rocky and slippery grounds. Well done

Leslie, thank you so much, for all the patience, and attention, while helping us plan for our tour through Kakadu and Nitmiluk national park, as well as Mount Borradaile. I know we must have asked a lot of questions, and changed our minds quite a few times about some things, and you took all our wishes and put together a great itinerary for us, thank you so much!

In our case, Leslie picked us up from our apartment in Darwin, and took us to the airport for our flight to Mount Borradaile, where our tour guide Scott picked us up from the airstrip and brought us to our cabin. During the days we spent there, Scott took us to various places of rock art, explained about the stories, and the sites where the aboriginals used to prepare and cook their meals. We even visited some burial sites. Some places we drove, and to others we traveled with the boat over the billabong, which was full of birds, crocodiles, and provided great views over the flood plains. The last evening we had a picknick diner on the boat, and watched the sun set over the flood plains, beautiful!
Scott was a great tour guide, and we were impressed by his passion and enthusiasm while he was explaining & answering every question. Thanks Scott!

After the Mount Borradaile trip, we flew to Jabiru, where Cat picked us up. Much to our surprise Cat’s enthusiasm & passion seemed to even surpass Scott’s, she drove us around, provided us with fresh lunch every day, and was also very flexible in that we never felt bound to a strict schedule. We really felt we could enjoy whatever place we were visiting, taking a swim at Gunlom or Maguk, walking around the various rock art sites, the Cultural Center at Cooinda, and the Art center at Gunbalunya. We took the Guluyambi Cultural cruise over the East Alligator river, with its beautiful views, and the local guides explained about the plants & trees and their use in aboriginal culture.
After Kakadu, we went to Nitmiluk park, staying over in Pine Creek, which is probably the smallest town we’ve ever stayed at. With its single bar/restaurant it really reminded us of ‘Walkabout Creek’ in Crocodile Dundee.
Cat took us to the Katharine Gorge, where we went canoeing for an afternoon. This really is a great experience passing between the high canyon walls, and climbing rocks here and there to get to the next gorge, or to look a bit around.
On the way back to Darwin, Cat took us to some memorable places, and we even visited a place where wallaby orphans were raised, and got to feed some of them. This was really a wonderful surprise!
Many thanks Cat, for giving us such a wonderful experience!

Mark, Cathrin & Daniel

P.S.
In these days of ‘Social Distancing’, we realize that things must be tough for the tourism branch, our thoughts go out to all of you who gave us such a great experience last year. We sincerely hope that you will be able to continue your tours again soon.

Hello Mark, Cathrin and Daniel. How lovely of you to take the time to write this message. It was a pleasure to take you through these amazing landscapes and I'm really pleased to know you had such a wonderful experience. I have passed on your comments to Kat. It is of course a difficult time for all during Covid-19 but we are using this time to plan ahead for once the travel restrictions ease and we can once again get back to what we love doing the most....which is spending time in this beautiful region!! Take care of yourself and best wishes to you all.

Lesley led our group of 6 ladies on a 4D/3N milestone celebratory trip and we had a wonderful time. We saw plenty but highlights were the Yellow river cruise, climbing Ubirr and Maguk creek and baby wallabies!
It was so nice knowing that you are in safe hands moving from place to place and not having to worry about finding your way, or food etc. Lesley was knowledgeable about the places we visited, and flexible in changing some of the arrangements to suit our preferences. We had lunch and morning tea each day freshly made by Lesley as we enjoyed a picnic in the park or by the falls.
On our last day, not in our original agenda, Lesley even took us to a private wallaby rescue centre where we had real close contact with some of the young ones. What a precious memory for us!
