An amazing birding trip with NT Bird Specialists to Katherine and Kakadu . Luke's knowledge of the birds and where to find them is exceptional. The range of species found was extensive and there were too many highlights to mention. I thoroughly recommend them.

It was a pleasure to go birding with you out and such a great way to spend our last multi-day trip for the year! Still super wrapped with great views of Northern Shriketit, Red Goshawk, Little & Chestnut-backed Buttonquails, Banded Fruit-Dove, Hooded Parrot, Black Bittern and the host of other species (especially macropods!).
Looking forward to birding with you again in the future and best of luck with getting those elusive species to add to your list.

Did a half day with Luke exploring the birds of Darwin. Excellent knowledge sharing, enthusiasm and attention of group’s needs and very low levels of experience in birding. Now have spots in Darwin to go back to, knowing the birds around. Well recommended for locals and visitors alike.

Awesome experience! We were a group of 4 couples who toured the Top End with Luke. Luke is an amazing guide, incredibly knowledgeable about the local birds and wildlife and where and when to best see them. We saw over 200 different species of birds, including a red goshawk, brown goshawk, and rainbow pitta! We saw other wildlife as well including crocodiles and a frill-necked lizard, and indigenous rock art. A highlight was the river cruise at dawn, when so much wildlife is active. Luke is also a great guy and fun to be with! I can't use too many superlatives. All 8 of us were thoroughly thrilled with our private tour.

If you're looking for a professional bird guide in the Top End, I would highly recommend Luke and Sarah of NT Birding Specialists. Luke is a passionate, committed and very competent guide, his technical and local knowledge, plus his keen eye-sight, together with his friendly and relaxed manner make for an enjoyable and productive birding experience for his clients. Luke works very hard to really make the whole package as enjoyable as possible, and his support of local and indigenous business enterprises is great too. I wouldn't hesitate to book him should I travel back to the Top End again.

I have now been attending Luke's Kakadu Bird Week tours since 2019. On an average I do 2-3 tours with Luke each Bird Week
I was the only passenger on a couple of these tours. It made no difference whether I was the only person or whether there was a full bus load, I was treated the same way on all occasions. His enthusiasm is infectious. His knowledge, be it birds or the environment is truly amazing. Luke and Sarah provide a truly professional experience. NT Bird Specialist tours are the highlight of my year

An outstanding trip. Luke's knowledge of birds and other fauna was outstanding and the meals provided were excellent. We saw so many species in so many environments it was truly rewarding. From the flame sunrise on the red rocks of Judburra escarpment to the cool drift on Yellow waters watching the brolgas and jacanas this tour is a knockout and excellent value. if you love nature, birding or photography this is an excellent all inclusive adventure.

Excellent trip, vehicle was great, food was good, and guide Luke was the best, cooks, cleans and has all the best birding spots. Saw all the greats Rainbow Pitta, Gouldians, Purple crowned fairy wrens, and off course all the finches and parrots. Luke is always positive, energetic, empathetic and on track. The other guests were all Aussies and wanted good views of all the birds, not just looking for the ticks.

A Fantastic, wonderful tour, with a very knowledgeable and helpful, caring guide .
The tour was suitable for all levels of birders, and we as amatuers found the whole group led by the guide Luke, keen to share their knowledge.
The tour exceeded our expectations we saw so many different species and colours of birds.
The tour was well organised and the food was very tasty.

If you are able to get up in the morning twilight with a smile, then a trip with NT Specialists will guarantee you the best birding trip available. This small group trip offers as much to experts as it did to me, the novice of the group. Luke is a walking encyclopedia on everything to do with the north, bubbles with enthusiasm and good humour, and has the eyes of an eagle for spotting. A comfortable truck, good food and accommodation rounded off 10 days of travel on this well planned and executed venture. And we saw bird - lots of birds ! Thank you Luke and Sarah, l hope to do another trip with you

We enjoyed our finch frenzy tour immensely. Luke Paterson's skills in finding birds are outstanding. I regard myself as a serious amateur; Luke is the professional par excellance. The lifers just kept coming. Add to that congenial company, a roomy comfortable vehicle, great breakfast and lunch picnics, great fun going over our lists with a well-earned refreshment in the evenings, it all added up to very great value.
