Our iconic hotel dates back to 1940 and has long been known as Darwin’s meeting place. Open 7 days a week from 10am till late. Enjoy a delicious meal and choose from the many cold beers that are on tap. Hotel Darwin features an award winning Sports Bar and a newly refurbished beer garden. Arrived in Darwin for one night and walked across the road early to have drink and have an early dinner. What a great place. Clean, good selection of drinks and friendly people. We made four attempts at ordering an early dinner when they were not busy, both at the bar and from a table. No interest from anyone. Staff were a zero from me and I very very rarely say anything negative. So sorry to post this.

Welcomg atmosphere inside, in the sports bar, on the front deck and outside in the courtyard. friendly staff, tasty value for money meals, air conditioned with a side of COLD drinks. The perfect waterhole when it’s 36 degrees outside. You will not be disappointed here.

My family and I have just returned from spending 10 days in Darwin.
During our visit my youngest daughter and I ventured out from our apartment (Metro Advance, Cavenagh Street), to the Hotel Darwin Sports Bar. I googled sports cars in the Darwin CBD looking for a venue that has live AFL broadcasts as our team (Carlton) were playing. Hotel Darwin Sports Bar popped up in my search and we weren't disappointed. Just a short walk up Smith Street for us. When we arrived there was another AFL game game in progress and on multiple TV screens but a simple request was made to bar staff and they were very accommodating. Amazing how many other AFL tragics then pooled into our area. My wife and other daughter joined us later for a drink.
Whilst there bar staff told us that Happy Hour had started (4 - 6pm). How great was that to offer up that bit of information. Schooners of Great Northern were reduced to $5 and schooners of apple cider were $5.50. Now this was a true Happy Hour (compared to Fiddlers Green on the Waterfront).
We didn't order a meal during the time we were at Hotel Darwin but saw meals come out which looked mouth watering.
Overall, the hotel had a great atmosphere and is welcoming. Highly recommended by us!

We ate here with a voucher and the menu offered with this was limited even more so for a vegetarian. The pub itself is nice and we had a lovely evening but the food was average and I would not bother to eat here again. But would certainly drop in for a cold one.

Central location, very friendly, authentic pub grub with a local flavour like Barra, prawns , crab, crocodile etc.
Very large range of beers including craft beer.

We tried many of the pubs in Darwin but the Hotel Darwin was the best in our opinion. Fantastic, friendly staff always with a smile. Great food, try the WA crayfish salad divine. Big beer garden with live music, great balcony out the front to watch the world go by. Highly recommend the HD

I really liked the atmosphere of this place, very relaxed, big out door beer garden, great balcony location at the front, pool tables, lots of tap beer, live entertainment, it kind of ticked a lot of boxes for me.

This is the place for the best pub meal in Darwin. Looks a little ordinary on the outside but step in side and the atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are friendly and the food is great. Highly recommend this spot when at this end of town.

Probably the best pub "in town"
Happy hour every day 4-6P PM

Visited Darwin yesterday on the Voyager of the Seas and took my Food and Beverage Team for lunch, to experience some good Aussie Tucker.
Well, the Darwin lived up to its reputation and exceeded.
We tried the Tasting Plate of Emu, Crocodile and Kangaroo as well as plates of Barramundi, Kangaroo Pie, Crocodile Ribs, Buffalo Fillet,Surf & Turf Grass fed Rib Fillet on the Bone and daily special Steak and amazing chips (French Fries), plus too many pitcher's of Beer.
True Blue Aussie Pub and excellent wholesome Aussie Food.
Thank you guy's for being great Hosts and for sure the team will return on every visit to Darwin.

Why did you change the lunch deals? I know many people myself included who have just gone elswhere because we have no options. One item per day for your $15 deal? Pathetic.

Thanks for expressing your concerns, we really appreciate getting feedback whether it be good or bad. The $15 lunch specials were fantastic totally agree and we extended the offer for as long as we could. We have a great range of $15 lunch options on the main menu now including the daily special. Hopefully see you back in the venue again soon.
