We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I did not know it was a theatre as it looked like it was an historical building in 12 Smith Street. It is just near the bus station. It was built in 1885 and is on the Heritage Register. It withstood the bombings of 1942 and Cyclone Tracy of 1974.T I thought it was more of an arts venue, hosting music, exhibitions and cultural events. I saw the brochures and am not sure whether it is still a theatre.

Go here on a Friday afternoon. They have live music, it is a great friendly atmosphere There is seating for about 60-80 people. And in the park just next door they have the food vans, so you can get yourself a bite to eat, come back to the beer garden and listen to some awesome local talent.

We saw the Book of Shadows performance and we're impressed by the venue and relaxed atmosphere. The drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced and free chilled water was also avaliable at the intermission. The building itself is a historic site and well worth visiting.

It was built by a Mister Brown, a trader and Mayor of Darwin in 1885 and started life as a Mining Exchange. Since then it has survived many cyclones and activities and in 1972 commenced it phase as a performing arts place which it is today.Worth a look and one of a number of interesting old heritage stone buildings in Darwin

We went Thursday night for Club Culture. The jam session was awesome. Artists from all over the country and world, coming together. Bar open, had a few drinks. Had a dance, and our 6yo daughter loved it. An arty crowd but really family friendly, no drunks.

I was thrilled to find that one of Australia's oldest working theatres still brings live entertainment to the steamy tropics. A heritage building now - beautifully restored and lovingly maintained with all the 'smells, bells & whistles'.

She hosts professional and amateur touring productions through most of the year in between residencies by the Darwin Theatre Company. Boasting 120 comfy air-conditioned seats there are plenty of reasons to escape from the heat and the city streets.

There's also a fully licensed bar and plenty of space to relax in the spacious courtyard, which also presents live music on occasion. Even if you don't get to see a show - the building alone is worth a visit from all 'theatre enthusiasts'.

Brown's Mart Theatre is a beautiful stone heritage building in the heart of Darwin, opposite the Old Town Hall. Whilst currently used as a theatre and concert venue, it was originally built intended to be a mining exchange.

Just beautiful.

A great spot for the Arts, it comes into its own during the Darwin Festival period July to August each year. There are different venues located close together where I have seen great shows over the last few years. Its the Arts & Entertainment Hub for Darwin.
