We were lucky enough to have just a small group on our boat but the size of the boat and layout of the seating (all facing the water) meant that you’d see a croc up fairly close (and safely) even it if was full.
The guide was knowledgeable and really knew all the crocs, it was nice getting ‘personal’ info on each one we came across. The staff both seemed to really enjoy the job and take pride in what they were doing.
We were impressed to see/hear that the crocs weren’t over fed.
We chose this tour/company due to the reasonable price and thought the kids would like to see the crocs up close. We weren’t disappointed and now have a much greater respect for the animal

The trip with very knowledgeable guides to watch the crocs in their natural environment was worth every cent. The guides also pitched their commentary perfectly between entertainment and facts. The sheer power and longevity of the crocs was both awe inspiring and very humbling.

The Adelaide River is a stunning environment and offered us a chance to get up close to the Saltwater Crocs the area is famous for. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all things to do with crocs and presented lots of interesting information along with a touch of humour. The crocs were offered little parcels of meat and with a bit of encouragement jumped in order to get their reward, which made for excellent photos. All up it was an enjoyable way to spend an hour in a beautiful part of the world.

We booked to do the cruise on Adelaide River. They must have overbooked as there wasn’t really enough room for us to sit comfortably. One little girl (8yrs)had to sit on her Dad’s knee the whole time. My friend (elderly) had half his bum on the bench seat so was quite uncomfortable.
We only saw 3 crocs and by the time he fed on one side then got to us on the other side the croc didn’t seem interested in eating.
I am a local but was disappointed in the cruise

Hi Robyn, I'm sorry to hear you weren't happy with your experience, though I can assure you that we would not have overbooked as we adhere to our passenger capacity limits, as in accordance with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. Often what happens is that is that some passengers take up more space than needed, and while we can instruct people not, we aren't able to force people. If you had mentioned it on the day, our staff would have been happy to help make your group more comfortable, though I can understand the reluctance to speak up in the moment. 🐊💚

Staff were friendly with many stories. You could tell they enjoyed their job and took it seriously. The crocs were fantastic. Just seeing them was mesmerising but watching them jump was incredible. You get to learn so much from the staff and overall experience. Would absolutely recommend!

A unique experience to be so close to seeing a crocodile swim out to the boat to retrieve a feed from the end of a pole being held by a guide. Our guides did a great job in manoeuvreing the boat so everyone had a good view of the jumping croc as well as showing where the young crocs were on the river bank. Also a great display of the kites as they swooped in to catch the food in mid air, thrown by the guides. Well worth a visit!

We did the tour the day before with the competing company - The Original - and we thought we would try again with The Spectacular Jumping croc company and our tour was all but spectacular ! Very disappointed. We did not see crocs jumping the way we did the day before. It’s wildlife so I get that it’s unpredictable. Yet having done both, I will happily go again with The Original. We took the tour at 9am. Spent about 15 mins trying to interact with the first 2 small crocs. At 9:43am I had no shots in my cameras ! You can’t move around the boat so if something happens on the left side then it’s too bad for you if you’re on the right side of the boat.

Thank you for your review, We're sorry to hear that our cruise didn't live up to that of our competitors on the day you came. Unfortunately as you said these are wild animals and we are limited by what they choose to do, they can't be expected to instantly jump as soon as the boat stops every time, and doing so would indicate over-feeding/over-interaction. I understand that as a photographer it can be disappointing when you're not able to move about the boat, but please understand that passengers are required to remain seated as per AMSA safety requirements, for both passenger and crew safety. Safety takes precedence over everything else at the end of the day, as we are not willing to put ourselves or anyone else in a position that someone may fall overboard. As this is primarily a sightseeing tour, we have many photographers who book our tour and have produced and shared some wonderful images with us, but we do encourage everyone to also view our tour as an experience rather than through a lens :) Cheers, SJCC management

We had Jonah and Wookie take us for our trip down the lake. We booked the 9am session which was nice and quiet, we saw exactly what we wanted to see.
Jonah and Wookie were full of crocodile knowledge and were a pleasure to be around. They answered any questions we had, told us some facts and myths.
A must do item in Darwin is to visit these guys

Got picked up by Andrea from Autopia tours for a morning trip to the Adelaide River to join a crocodile jumping cruise by Spectacular Jumping Crocodiles. Great cruise. Pleasant on the water. Saw 3 cross, 2 of which "jumped" for us. Also watched the Kites swooping and catching food. Was an extra bonus. Everyone was friendly and we had a great morning. Recommend this morning adventure.

Do this when you are in Darwin. These prehistoric creatures are part of life here and this up close encounter is a great way to bring this reality home to the short term visitor. You will experience both the drama and learn about the biology on this trip.

On the Adelaide river no searching is needed for crocs. We were totally mesmerized by the impressive "salties" surfacing near our boat every 50 meters, or so. Captain Wookie and his mate,Jonah, had ready answers to every question and their running narrative was illustrated by these animals high jumping for meat dangling from a fishing pole.

We also enjoyed watching amazing birds, Black Kites, diving for meat held out by hand from the birds.
