Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During the festival, Darwin is abuzz with excitement and anticipation. As evening approaches, the main location, the festival park, begins to glitter with lights and lanterns and excited people. The shows are often original, courageous, and powerful, as well as quirky and unique. The venues are usually special too. You might watch shows in the huge amphitheatre in the Botanical Gardens, in another garden, under huge milk wood trees, in the remaining surrounds of the old Town Hall, and in other interesting spots. The festival is organised well. The only problem is the popularity: tickets might sell out quickly and spots to sit in the park can be hard to find.

A fun experience to enjoy the amazing Darwin weather. A good selection of shows to see or take in the atmosphere with quality restaurant quality food and a beer or wine. Live music enhanced the atmosphere in this very central location in the CBD. Loved it.

Its a perfect way to spend a night out. We started at Festival Park which had a great, relaxed atmosphere. We grabbed some food from one of the many stands and a few drinks from the bar. There is loads of seating arrangements and grass areas to sit down. After, we bought a ticket to Neon which was a comedy/musical/circus performance, it was excellent! Whilst you are in Darwin, make the most of this festival.

The Darwin Festival's entertainment line up offers something for everyone, from comedy, dance, music and more. Festival Park is humming each evening with a variety of food and beverages, perfect for catching a show at the Lighthouse. Highly recommend travelling to Darwin in August to attend some brilliant shows in this perfect tropical city brimming with activity.

Just watched Cal Wilson and she was great, I haven't seen her in person before but after some festival food and drinks it was a great show. Roll on the rest of the events, much more to go to yet.

Highly recommend this festival, there is something for everyone. Festival Park has a great atmosphere with free entertinament and food stalls selling a good selection of food, it does get a bit busy before a performance but otherwise it has a great relaxed chilled vibe.

Darwin Festival rocks. Accessible, edgy, fun and on in the dry season which is the best weather you will see in Australia. If you are in Darwin while it is on you shouldn't pass up the opportunity to take a gander. There are usually booklets in the mall that you can get for free that will give you the entire schedule.

Thanks, Joel. We think our hot August nights are pretty special too. You will find our printed program guide in plenty of locations across Darwin from late June each year. Plus our full program is listed on our website too.
