Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a gem, well worth walking up the stairs to see an amazing array of work from the central desart. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and we cannot recommend the gallery enough, well worth a visit.

Constantly changing exhibitions often by well known artists, mean this gallery is always worth a visit. Works are on consignment, so prices are not negotiable, but many are of investment quality, not produced for the tourist market, like some galleries in the CBD. Matt, the owner is very helpful, knowledgeable but not intrusive or pushy. Worth visiting whether you are a looker or a buyer

We went to Outstation Gallery on the recommendation of an expert academic in the U.S. working with contemporary aboriginal artists. This is one of the few galleries in Australia working directly with communities in the Northern Territory and South Australia. We were particularly interested in the Peppimenarti Duurmu Arts Center and were not disappointed. The gallery was busy on a Saturday morning, but Matt took the time to help us and even packaged our purchase to travel overseas for our flight that day. He is also able to mail things should we make any future purchases. I would not hesitate to recommend this gallery as one of the more informed and very reputable galleries in Australia. I look forward to my next visit.

This gallery is a little gem. Once you find it, and go up the stairs, you will find a lovely gallery space. The gallery owner is super informative, and knows loads about the communities in which the artworks come from. This is a great contemporary art exhibition space. The gallery changes it's exhibitions at least every 2 months, and the owner has a wide range to choose from. If you're into art, make this part of your trip to Darwin.

Matt Ward and Outstation have placed indigenous art from Australia’s interior and top end not just on the national art scene, but far beyond. The spread of works on the showroom is simply breathtaking, and Matt’s knowledge of the artists and their place in this vibrant and growing community is genuine and personal. Outstation is a must visit for anyone visiting Darwin with an interest in established and up-and-coming indigenous artists. What a treat!
