Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A top shop in Darwin, an eclectic collection of dresses & must have designs. I have bought a number of dresses from Laureen. She will also deliver if required. Personal service & great fittings.
Ethical and affordable clothing that is perfect for warm weather.

Colourful, light and stylish fashions well suited to the Top End lifestyle. Well worth a visit to look right in place in Darwin.

I love the products that perfectly represent Darwin's climate, the array of local artists' creations, and the history of the building. I recommend having a chat to the staff over some salty plums.

Worst customer service I’ve experienced
The way me and my Aunty were treated after making a simple mistake could be taken out of a page from the “what not to do in customer service”
Our mistake was not seeing a sign that said “back in 10 minutes”
Note that the door was unlocked, and the sign in question was on a piece of cutout cardboard hung up on a short tray of books below eye level. It was standing at about 3 foot tall.
I sincerely apologise for missing this sign, it was an honest mistake.
the way this lady talked to us was not appropriate at all for the situation at hand. For the entirety of our interaction, she was rude and snappy. The way she said “well the shop is open now isn’t it” when My Aunty asked about whether we should leave or not, and the face she made at my Aunty was enough to stop me spending what would of been around $100 on gifts.
I’m not one to write bad reviews, but this interaction was so distasteful I couldn’t not write a review. We genuinely did not know the store was closed, and apologised for it promptly, to which the worker continued to speak rudely to us for no good reason.
Please consider how you talk to your customers.
We went today at around 11:30 am. 1/11/21

Hi Tahlia,
I just saw the review of your unfortunate time at our store.
That sounds like a very negative experience, my staff inadvertently left the front door unlocked when she popped over the road to the Post Office to send an online order.
I’ve spoken to her about this and she truely didn’t mean to be offensive, she was stressed out at being away from the shop so long with the queue she was in at the PO.
If you’re ever back on Darwin please give us another try and we will happily give you a generous discount 🙂
