Most amazing sunrise camel tour. Our tour guide (an Irish girl, I forgot her name unfortunately) was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience truly unique. We learned so much about the camels and their training, and also had the impression that the team cared a lot for the animals and their welfare.
Our camel was calm and easygoing and didn't mind the occasional selfie. Slowly but surely we went up to the viewpoint to watch Uluru in its magical sunrise colours. Initially, we had wanted to go for the sunset tour which was fully booked at the time, but I must say that in hindsight, we liked the sunrise setting even better and were glad we picked that tour instead.
After the trip, we were served breakfast with bushtucker bread, tea and coffee and had the opportunity to go and see some more animals at the farm - goats, kangaroos, chickens and many more. We never felt rushed which really did add to the positive experience. The team was warm and welcoming.
I think the tour is reasonably priced, bearing in mind that they have to take care of so many camels and other animals, while being located literally in the middle of nowhere. After all, visiting Yulara and the national park is a once in a lifetime experience and I'm grateful that the camel tour was a part of it. Highly recommend.

My sunrise camel ride at Uluru was an exceptional experience that combined the serene beauty of the Australian outback with a touch of adventure and cultural charm. The early start was a small price to pay for the reward of watching the first rays of sunlight cast a warm, golden hue over the majestic Uluru, creating a spectacle of light and shadow that seemed to bring the landscape to life.
The camel ride itself added a humorous and unforgettable dimension to the morning. Feeling the motion of Boof, my camel with a personality as large as the landscape, sitting down and standing up was a delightful novelty. It was these quirky moments that added a lighthearted touch to the majesty of the sunrise.
The staff’s warmth mirrored the glow of the morning, and their hospitality extended beyond the ride. Returning to the scent of hot beer damper, the owner’s specialty recipe, paired with hot chocolate was the perfect culinary endnote to the adventure. The visit to the charming farmyard with its adorable baby goat, coupled with the opportunity to explore a small museum, enriched the experience, weaving together the threads of nature, culture, and history.
This tour not only offered a unique vantage point from which to appreciate Uluru but also provided a glimpse into the heart of the Australian outback, characterized by its distinctive wildlife and the character of its people. My new friend Boof, a camel with his own set of quirks, was the ideal companion for such an exploration.
For the magical blend of natural beauty, gentle adventure, and the sweet finish of local cuisine, I would wholeheartedly give this sunrise camel ride a 5 out of 5. It’s an experience that captures the essence of Uluru and leaves one with memories that are as enduring as the ancient rock itself.

Very well organised trip. You need to book online in advance to make sure it doesn't get sold out as there are limited spaces.
Don't expect to be trekking next to Uluru - the national park is miles away, what you get is a peaceful trek through the open space with beautiful views of Uluru in the distance and the changing colours of the sky (we did the sunset tour).
The camels are obviously well cared for and each have their own individual personalities. The guides are knowledgeable.
After the trek is the opportunity to eat some damper and nibbles, have a drink and wander around the building where you can read up the history of the camels and how they were bought to Australia.

Loved this!
I will be honest I did think I was going to be going closer to Uluṟu but I am not mad.
All the staff were informative and had great character.
We loved Hannah!
My son and I rode on Buddy and my husband and oldest son rode Archer and both Camels were well behaved.
So much so the boys started to google if we could have a camel as a pet so they could ride it to school.
Apparently we can but that is not going to happen.
I will very happily come back for them to ride them in Uluṟu.
When we came back from our ride we were greeted with beer wine and soft drink as well as warm damper and chips and salsa and peanuts.
All of which was delicious!
💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brilliant. So glad we booked this but sad that it was on our last night as we would have loved to visit again for more time there. Staff are great, felt relaxed and looked after. Mick gave us answers to all our questions and clearly loves his camels. The ride was great and of course the views were perfect. Highly recommend this as a part of your Uluru trip.

Great time. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The camels were fun and the views stunning. Afterwards yummy warm damper is provided. Highly recommend taking them up on their offer for a poncho, as it is very cold

Can you choose to ride a camel by yourself? (Note: I am only 60kg) .Or must you ride with someone else if there are two people in your group?

You could ask. Our camel rides had 2 people per camel but the odd number ‘left over’ person rode by himself.

They give you a little bag thing to keep water, phone, sunglasses in if that’s what you are wanting it for?

Would this tour be too hot to do in summer? Im worried about the heat and the flies....sounds silly I know but I'm wondering if this is more an enjoyable experience when it's cooler?

is there maximum age limit? Elderly age above 75 but healthy.

I am 70 with two knee replacements and a hip replacement and I managed with no problem at all. They have a high deck that allows you to simply slide onto the camel so go for it.

is the camel ride safe for elderly but otherwise healthy, age between 75-85?

Take the short 10 minute trot around the field, not the hour long camel ride. I am 70 and full of spare parts, two knees and a hip and I managed perfectly, it was absolutely delightful.

Can you tell me if there are weight restrictions for going on a camel ride. Thank you

Hi both my partner and I are over 100kg. All it means is that we both got our own camel. Smaller people shared. You'll have a great time!!!
is it possible to drive on our own to you or do we have to use the pick up and drop off?

My daughter is allergic to horses- does anyone know if people allergic to horses are also allergic to camels?😳
Lisa E

Hi Deb, I'm Lisa from Uluru Camel Tours.
Camels don't have hair like horses do they have more a wool covering there body. We have not had any trouble in the past with people being allergic to our camels.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Lisa
