We took the 15 minutes flight over Kings Canyon. Never having been in a helicopter before I was slightly nervous!! However, the pilot was great and made us feel very at ease. It was good fun and the view of the canyon from the top is amazing.

A fantastic pilot that went out of her way to help get us up and over the middle ranges. A magic vista and well worth doing. Thank you Sophie :)

We decided on a whim to take a 5 minute flight as we were staying at the station and I’m still in awe!! Tristan was an incredible pilot that managed to spot some brumbys in the short time we were up there. Can’t recommend this enough - I’m still smiling just thinking about it!

We per booked our 55 minute helicopter flight with Ayers Rock Helicopter for my wife’s 70th birthday holiday amazing experience. Tristan our pilot is a very capable cattle muster pilot that has flown over this Kings Canyon region on many occasions. We saw wild Camels, wild Horses and station farm cattle while flying along ravines, up over rocky outcrops and along water courses. This landscape features are amazing. We have great photos and long lasting memories. Tristan picked us up at our accommodation in Kings Creek Resort and was able to fly us back to close to our accommodation. If you travel to this place then we highly recommend a helicopter flight to full view this beautiful landscape. Thanks Tristan ( Ayers Rock Helicopters) for giving my wife a wonderful 70th birthday flight. The best. Wow. Wow. Wow. A must do. By the way Tristan your trailer was still on the side of the road when we had to leave on our travel to Alice Springs. Memories. Thanks.

After doing the Kings Canyon rim walk in the morning, we decided to take a chopper over the canyon to see it from the air. That was, quite simply, spectacular. However, so was everything else - back canyon, the crater behind that, Katherine Spring, the wild brumbies and camels and of course Tristan the pilot, who was lovely, knowledgable and professional. We didn't realise there was more than one helicopter service in Kings Canyon, and were very happy indeed that we did the half hour flight rather than the 10 minute flight offered by other company.

This was intended to be a highlight of our trip and it didn't disappoint. We opted for the longest flight of 50 minutes as it gave time to travel a greater distance and therefore get a better impression of this alien landscape. We had the first flight of the day, taking off soon after sunrise so the night before we'd stayed at the Kings Creek Station to be within walking distance of the helicopter pad. After taking off we flew along the George Gill range, over Kings Canyon, Shake’s Plain, and the Middle Ranges. Points of interest and landscape features were pointed out by Patrick, our knowledgeable and enthusiastic pilot. We were the only two passengers – one in the front alongside the pilot and one in the back – so we both had excellent views. (The helicopter can only take three passengers anyway.)
Although the flight was expensive, it was well worth it. There are shorter, cheaper flights available, but obviously they don't go so far.

My wife and I took a flight with Pat the pilot around Kings Canyon the day of our 10th anniversary we had a 2 hour stop over heading to Alice Springs. Pat was fantastic pointing out the scenery as we passed by @ 3500 ft. Small world Pat knew of our home town in Canada and had visited. It was a great 30 minute flight thanks Pat.

This has to be on your bucket list to do while in the NT - stay at Kings Creek Station on the Escarpment then book a helicopter flight over the station and surrounding canyons. Chris's in depth knowledge of the region and warm character added a whole new layer to the NT experience. Nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to make sure our trip was the experience of a lifetime. Definitely the "go to" if you want to see breathtaking scenery and experience a part of the Territory that few have the privilege of seeing. Absolutely five star! (thanks for the awesome tour Chris - not to mention the air strip transfers etc!)

Hi. I am thinking of booking a day trip tour from Ayers Rock. Is it possible to fit in a flight.

It’s a number of hours away from Yulara to Kings Creek Station. I suggest to ask at the information centre at YULARA. The helicopter companies are in the same building. For me I would stay at Kings Creek Station for one night. They have a variety of accommodation. The helicopter is location at the same place for an early morning flight. If you are travelling around then go see the West McDonald Ranges. Take a tour out of Alice Springs. It a full day tour. Amazing. Cheers.
