Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I only had the opportunity to briefly explore the cultural center, but it is beautifully and sensitively done. There is much to learn from and about those who have lived on the land for literally thousands of years. The shop presents a wonderful opportunity to purchase crafts created by Aboriginal artisans.

Pretty decent exhibits and a couple of films depicting the story is the indigenous people of the area.
Great to get the entire story.
Nice little gift shop with items hand crafted in the original styles.
Not cheap but it help to support this culture. Worth a visit.

I would like to relate my experiences, which were not good. I browsed the shop, and then asked what percentage of the art price goes to the artist. I was told that it depended on the artist. Fair enough. I then selected some pieces which I liked, which were clearly marked with the artist's name and a barcode. I then asked again, what percentage of price goes to the artist. The staff member acted offended that I had even asked, and then stated that he had already answered the question. When I pointed out that he had not, he said that they get that question all the time. I then asked why he didn't have an adequate answer if this was the case. Then I asked if he could even provide a ballpark figure. He said that he didn't know the commission percentage, and again acted offended that I had asked the question. I stated that I thought it was a legitimate question, given documented, widespread rorting of aboriginal artists. Not once did I even get close to an adequate answer to a legitimate question. Instead I was treated rudely for asking the question. If a hardware store can have an inventory system that tracks every single bolt in the store, an art store can have a system where we can be assured that the artist is not being cheated. The pieces were already barcoded; all that's required is a barcode reader (standard on all smartphones) and an excel spreadsheet. Further research has revealed that this shop is not a signatory to the Aboriginal Art code of conduct. Until this store can provide adequate answers to legitimate questions, I would suggest avoiding it and instead patronising stores where you can be assured that everybody in the supply chain gets a reasonable deal. I am happy to remove this negative review if the store can provide some reasonable answers.

How are you suppose to take this place seriously when they have some blonde chickie giving you a tour and sounds like she read it out of a book thats boring the living daylights out of her, plus they flat out lie you you and then when you pull them up about it you are then a racist. If your looking for tourism you will find it here NOT TRUTH!

This attraction has a number of displays explaining the Aboriginal origins and culture. Washrooms are available, as is a small retail space. It's OK to see once, if you are already there.

Felt this was just a money making idea - the screens etc. too much information and too difficult to read. Prices of articles for sale - so high you need to win the lottery.

Is it still open? According to goolge, it is permanently closed, and in their website I can't find any information about opening hours. But there are still recent reviews (about 2 weeks ago). Can anyone help us out?

Our family would love to visit the Aboriginal Australia Culture Centre, listed in Alice Springs on Tripadvisor, but we can't find a website that provides any details (e.g., visiting hours, admission fees, etc.). Can you provide details on the visit you made, the location, and how you'd recommend we find more details. Thanks!

In the heart of Australia lies the Northern Territory, a region that is so different from any other, it redefines adventure. Here, you'll find nature in its rawest form, where the vast and otherworldly terrains invite exploration and awe. The rich Aboriginal heritage, deeply embedded in the art, music and traditions of the land, offers a profound connection to one of the world's oldest living cultures.
