The decision to book a trip to ride the Fink track with a group of strangers was a daunting challenge to us middle aged MX riders on its own simply riding 500km in two days was never going to be easy to start with but then to do that on the toughest desert race track in the land is next level !!. but we took it on. We arrived in Alice Springs and settled into our motel room and had look around town before our meeting with Damo, Vroomy, Don, Tab & Jeff as we listened to them talk about the trip and exlpain how hard it would be, not to underestimate it or become complacent, it made for a restless night sleep full of doubt if I was up to it. The next morning we were picked up by the very upbeat Vroomy who's humor started to calm our fears then the friendly good mornings and casual chat from the rest of the team made the time fly by and before we new it we were on our way. Then the professionalism off the support team kicked in with food and drinks whipped out the chatter about the track and tails of near crashes the group was buzzing and it only kept getting better from there, the food Tab produced was amazing, even catering special meals for a celiac like me, no-one was disappointed or under feed all trip it was so good. As the dust settled at the end of the day and we enjoyed a great meal and a few beers around the camp fire the crew joined the story telling to make the group of strangers come together to share experience's and grow the bond between us all taking on the challenge together. The team worked there magic on us in the morning to get those tied old bodies up and about to explore some beautiful county away from the fink track at a place you would never know about with out this tour it was a good hour or two of fun riding and sight seeing before we head off on the last 170 km of the Fink Track back to Alice. Sore, tired but full of food again and with new found confidence that I had finally understood what the bike was doing and what I needed to do I could relax a bit and look around more at the amazing country we live in and push harder and faster than I had on day one, and the thrill of seeing the finish line and celebrating our achievement together is something I will remember for a long time to come. This is no ordinary tag-a-long adventure it is a great challenge and a epic experience with a group of like minded friends if you have ever dreamed or even wondered about competing at Fink get on this tour with these great people.

Mate, we are all blown away by your phenomenal review! You've mentioned the 'magic' the team worked to get you going & keep you motivated, and we know your review will also work some magic on those who read it if they're a bit unsure about completing the challenge. We love nothing more than seeing you guys find your feet out there in the sand, and with us taking care of all the logistics it means you can truly focus on the task at hand. A real pleasure having you on board and congratulations on conquering the infamous track! Many thanks for your comments!

Outback motorcycle adventures ‘the rock’ tour was an absolute blast. We were riding new Sherco 500 4 stroke bikes. The tour was a 1200km tour of iconic Australian locations and remote camp sites. The trails were a mix of tar seal, gravel and sand roads, farm tracks and 4wd tracks. 9
(And a scenic flight to avoid 300km of tar seal which the whole group appreciated.). Vroomy and Damo were excellent guides (lead and tail end Charlie) with long stretches between regrouping to cater for the very quick and slower riders without frustrating either group. We were well supported by a 4wd sweep vehicle ably and quickly driven by Brian. The trip was very well balanced with several long days on the bikes, a couple of softer sight seeing days and a strong finish. The variety of terrain offered something for everyone. The camps sites were beautiful, and the set up was immaculate with a shower available at the end of every day With Jeff and Tab doing all the behind the scenes work to have camp ready for us. Tab warned me no-one loses weight on the tour and every break and meal stop was wonderfully catered. The food was always plentiful, good, tasty and wholesome. Sand experience is not essential, you will get plenty of practice. I’d wouldn’t recommend the trip for first time riders rather it is well suited to competent intermediate rider or better. The riding does not call for a high level of fitness, but you will be exhausted some days if you are a portly chap like me. We had a great group and a lot of fireside fun. I’d strongly recommend outback motorcycle adventures as a fun way to see the NT with an operator that provides a professional product.

G'day Darren, thanks for making the big leap over the ditch to join us on the 6-day Rock Tour and we are so happy to receive such detailed & excellent feedback. As our first group to experience the scenic flight your thoughts are really appreciated - afterall we try to keep you guys off the tar as much as possible! It's great to hear our bikes, catering, scenery & beautiful backyard met all your needs, and thanks also for adding to the fireside humour :)
Safe riding till we meet again, team OMA

Yes the Finke experience was very good. The trip was well planned and supported. I would recommend the trip to people who want to experience the Finke race track with out the pressure of the race. Outback Motorcycle Adventures was well run and organised the people were great and the bikes ran well and were well maintained. There was plenty of food and drinks.

I had been support crew twice at the finke desert race and have always wanted to ride it but the logistics to get a bike out there from Qld has seemed too hard and expensive. These guys were highly recommended to me by a friend so we got a group of us together and booked the trip. They met and surpassed my expectations every step of the way. Well set up and maintained bikes, all the food i could ever want along the way plus everything in between. Just a fantatsic crew and set up that allowed me to just fly in with a gearbag and have a great time riding my dirtbike on such a unique track. Incredible experience!

What an awesome way to kick off our 2023 season having you guys along - we are absolutely stoked with your feedback thanks mate. That's the beauty of our Finke Desert Race Experience Tour, jump on a desert-primed bike, focus on the riding, and we'll do the rest! Hope to see you again sometime.

My Son an I did this trip together and we absolutely loved it! Very professionally run, staff were great, very approachable, friendly people. Bikes were beautifully maintained late model bikes that were a joy to ride! Everything was provided, fuel, great food and drinks etc etc. I could go on and on how great this experience actually was! The Finke track is quite challenging and I wouldn’t recommend it for someone without a good amount of dirt bike riding experience! 👍👍👍👍

Awesome trip. Well organised. Tour guides were flexible to accommodate the riders in the tour group, and the constantly changing covid restrictions.
The tour was at the right pace. Each day was big, but still plenty of rest breaks.
The food was awesome. The support vehicles, truck and camping equipment was great. The support crew were friendly, helpful and also added a few laughs.
All I had to do was eat, ride sleep & repeat
Highly recommend this tour to anybody that rides.

The Finke track was an amazing experience to ride! It will test your riding fitness and broaden your riding ability.
Vroomy, Damian, Geoff and Tab provided best in class service and hospitality throughout the whole event. We enjoyed home cooked meals, hot showers, clean swags and refreshments at every break. We rode the new Sherco 500's, the bikes performed like a beast. they had plenty of power and any adjustments required were promptly attended to by their onsite mechanic Geoff.
I highly recommend booking in with the team at Outback Motorcycle Adventures for your next desert adventure.
Thanks team!

More than just down and back on the Finke race track, I consider this to be a genuine "tour" as well as the "race experience". The layout/itinerary of the riding is well thought out and gives you a chance to experience all of the track, as well as other attractions around the track. The desert scenery is epic as well.
I signed up lacking a bit of ride confidence due to not having ridden for years, but the crew were very supportive (and patient!), and I managed to complete all of the riding challenges without issues and on time.
The bikes are well set up for the conditions, they handle well and have plenty of power.
You will not go hungry either (You may gain weight...), and the tucker was top notch!
Thanks Outback Motorcycle Adventures, a truly rewarding experience, I really appreciated all of your effort

Thanks for the excellent feedback Robbo - it was a pleasure having you boys along with us for the ride and congrats on conquering the track there & back! For sure, this tour is an excellent way to gain some confidence for those thinking about racing the Finke, but as you boys found out, it's also a bloody great way to spend a weekend without the challenge of racing conditions! Hope to see you out here again sometime mate, cheers from the team.

If you are a kiwi looking to adventure back into the wide world again, and you are into dirt bikes, then these guys should be on top of your list.
The Simpson is a big kick arse challenge, the ride and tour is well organised, you get to ride with and motor around some very good FINK racers, pick up a number of riding tips in sand and generally just have a very cool time.
The bikes are superb, well set up, and far out class the other bike models used on similar crossings. The food and support guys and girl were outstanding, we were always well looked after, they were well organised and everyone was fun to be around.
From a safety view point we had a lead and sweep rider, which for a kiwi outback, was great , and ensured we did not get lost and we had lots of well managed break times.
So ..... rip into it !!!!! The whole experience with the Outback Motorcycle Adventures crew was bloody awesome. Nice guys and a superb ride, yeah boy.

G'day Brendan and thanks a heap for the awesome feedback mate! We are so glad you jumped the ditch to join us on such an iconic Aussie ride crossing the Simpson, and taking in another Aussie tradition - the Big Red Bash. Knowing our bikes, routes, support/crew and tour set-up is hitting the mark means a lot, especially when you've travelled so bloody far to get here! Hope to see you out here again sometime, safe riding till then. From team OMA.
