We hiked from Serpentine Gorge to Mt Sonder (Sections 8-12) and had a pre-trek consult, food drop and shuttle to Serpentine Gorge and from Redbank Gorge. Zak’s knowledge of the trail, from the history to the logistics to the current conditions provided context for our adventure and made us confident we could succeed. He encouraged us to hike Mount Sonder to see the sunrise, which ended up being a highlight of the trip. - Deanna7250 contributionsReliable and above and beyond helpfulWe used LTTS to support our Larapinta E2E hike (E2W) May/June 2024. They delivered empty boxes and full gas canisters to our hotel before we arrived. Then they collected the boxes and put them out on the trail for us. The return boxes were waiting for us at our hotel when we finished - all went perfectly to plan. They picked us up at the end of the hike and transported us back to our hotel, comfortably and all perfectly to plan. On our hike we had some gear issues, we contacted LTTS and they were above and beyond helpful, managing to get us some replacement gear out on trail to us the next day. They also gave us some tips to stay dry when we were concerned about incoming (unexpected) rain. A lot of people complain about the cost of transport options for Larapinta Trail movements, however this trail is not to be messed around with. LTTS could not be faulted for the service they provided our party. We booked support for an End-to-End Larapinta Trail walk and they delivered everything we asked for and more. Zac, Emily and Maya were responsive, helpful and efficient in everything they did, despite also having to handle multiple lockdowns in various States while we were preparing for, or on the walk.

Best company to go with, very organised and thorough in their work.
Used LTTS for food drops, transfer, fuel for gas stove, dehydrated meals and PLB hire in July.
Especially perfect for solo people going it alone - these are the people you want to rely on if anything were to go wrong (not that it did)! Zac & his team are so knowledgeable about the trail and it provides a lot of peace of mind knowing they are looking out for you.
Local NT residents - this is the best time ever to hike the trail and enjoy the natural beauty all to yourself ;)

Zak and team provided excellent support before, during and after our hike. This is a review for LTTS - not the beautiful trail itself... LTTS have an amazing and super informative website and when you don't need a change to your booking I have no doubt they are great. However, we were keen on additions to our small group booking and requested this by email. We were called a week or so later and were informed that there was availability, we just needed to put this in writing. We did, booked the additional flights and then well over a week later we received an email requesting verification (of the additions) and the hint that the required drop-offs and pick-ups were suddenly NOT available. From that point onwards no replies to several calls, emails and messages. Nothing. Complete silence.

The reviewer is part of a larger group booking who intends walking solo and separately from the group for most of the trail but piggy-backed on the group booking to reduce costs, expenses, effort etc. The consequence was a highly convoluted and complicated email trail ( in the midst of the Victorian Covid outbreak and mass cancelations at LTTS) that had very little to do with the original booking. The person who was responsible for the original booking had little or no engagement with the issue or outcome of this review.
> Our Recommendations<
1. If you are planning to hike solo, we highly recommend you book your own trek support package. That way you can receive individual and direct support for your trek. Piggy-backing off a larger group booking but expecting individualised support for your trek, that has little to do with the group, it's likely to get complicated, as it did with the reviewer.
2. If you are the primary booking contact for a booking, it is your responsibility to manage the booking. Nominating individual group members to contact LTTS separately to deal with their own individual issues, needs, demands, frustrations and insecurities is not our responsibility.
3. Covid in Victoria has ripped through LTTS with booking changes, cancellations and distress ( customers and us). Our priority are those people who are arriving for the trek within a week and the Victorians who cannot make it. If your trek is many weeks or months away and you don't have anything critical to do with your booking, please consider the current climate of events, show some empathy to other hikers affected by covid , and please wait your turn in line. Submitting a negative review is NOT going to get you up the line any faster.
4. We are 50% down in our staff. Granted we are slow to get on top of emails and phone calls. It's a crazy year. But remember there are 1,391 hikers using LTTS services in 2021, approximately 300 of them unable to get here because of covid in Victoria. To assist them as best as we can, we currently manage up to 250 emails a day, we deal with complicated rescheduling and cancelations and deal with more than 60 calls a day - that is just for admin - not what is happening out on the trail. If you, like the reviewer, live in a sunny part of Australia not affected by covid, show some consideration and empathy for the rest of us. It's tough going at the moment but we are successfully assisting many people at the moment.

The original booking the reviewer was part of was not affected in anyway by anything. So no changes there. The person who made the original booking stayed out of the whole complicated email trail and avoided being involved, even though they were the primary booking contact and they were responsible for their booking.
The reviewer was encouraged to book her own solo trek support package, which she did and is now sorted for her trek and is satisfied, but all this was done BEFORE the review was made. Much of the complication could have been avoided if the reviewer just booked a solo trek package from the start and got on with her own planning and preparation without hassle like the 433 other solo hikers before her. 199 of them have had a great trek so far. We sincerely hope the negative reviewer has a great trek too.
> Summary <
We have great and sincere sympathy for individuals who use social media and review sites to vent their frustrations without allowing the remedial process to sort the issues out. It shows a lack of empathy and consideration to a small business genuinely trying to look after its customers. We don't work 12 hours days and invest an incredible mount of time, resources and effort just so we can make your life difficult.
To the remaining 99.99% of our customers: Thank you for being patient and showing consideration and understanding as our small team of 3 staff deal with the toughest and most demanding year we have ever had on record.

OK, let me start by saying, if you’re looking to walk the Larapinta make sure you use LTTS as your support crew. Absolutely amazing! I cannot rate them highly enough.
This was my first multi day hike, and I was solo. So Zac, took the time to come to my accommodation and meet me for my pre trek. He talked me through the trail, gave me suggestions on managing the first few days, and fitted my pack. He showed he genuinely cared about my success, and they were his words of encouragement that got me over the start line.
The morning of day 2, my hydration bladder burst. Thankfully, I still had phone reception and sent through a message asking if they could leave a water bladder in my food box at Stanley. Sure enough, when I opened the box there it was!
Thankfully I made it to the end, and Emily was there ready and waiting to transport the LTTS hikers to their accommodation, where warm showers and real food awaits. I day I was picked up, we had to make a stop at ormiston gorge, at which point the bus cheered, coffee!!! Emily happy allowed us to have our caffeine fix, before we set off again.
I personally cannot speak highly enough of this company. Being new to overnight hiking I was sending emails through every few days with different questions. The replies weren’t always instant, but they always came in the end. And given there is only 1 admin staff member, I think that’s amazing!
The LTTS crew are customer focused and will back you 100% without question. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to do this, or other hikes in the area!

Thanks to all three staff at LTTS who we came into contact with during our Larapinta Trail hike. Our transfers were on time, clean, and comfy and staff friendly and helpful.
They arranged supply of fuel for our hike stove and took the “left overs” that we couldn’t take home on the plane with us.
We misplaced a small item of our gear (our mistake) and it was returned to us at our hotel in a matter of hours of us advising staff of our loss.
Would absolutely recommend booking with LTTS and Will do so for our next trip.

I used LTTS for transfers to and from part of the Larapinta trail (solo walk, part of the trail). Zak & the team were excellent on all fronts. They have great insight, a lot of experience on the trail (+great products on their website!) and were very communicative. I recommend!!
