Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked a park ride.
It's actually a walk with the horse on a lead the whole time.
We understood that this would be a walk with no trotting or cantering given the crowds at the park, even for experienced riders. However, we would not have booked if we'd known that the horse would be led the whole time.
Good views of the park though.

The School holiday camp for my 9 year old was very disappointing. She attended 3 days ($650). In total she had -2 lessons on the same completely stubborn old horse, one ‘games session’ on the last day and 3 ‘walk by lead rope’ rides around the park. So riding tuition is very, very minimal. The other component of grooming/ horse anatomy was useful. I think this is best for little kids learning to ride. Not great for kids 8 up with experience. My daughter only had a few her age, mostly little kids which took the majority of the attention.
This could be the case at many camps, but most concerning was the attitude of the staff- disengaged, no personal connection at all and rude. One assistant was lovely but the others really sour. My daughter has been to all sorts of camps (she loves them)and I’ve never heard a bad word . She felt the girls teaching were quite simply disinterested and pretty unkind. Completely out of character for her but I certainly got the same vibe!!

I was given a father's day gift from my son for a 1hr lesson...they booked me in and asked for my weight (92kg) they said nothing,...day before my scheduled lesson , they cancelled lesson saying that I was too heavy for their horses ( 90kg limit-nothing on website to advise of this) .
since then , about 4 weeks , have left 3-4 message ( never return call)...called and spoke to their staff 5 times to try to get refund but keep getting fobbed off saying "no refund..just give voucher to someone else" and told manager would call..never called and I had to keep calling..
finally ( via text - told they wold send me a refund???..I insisted on a bank transfer) and they only deposited $100 not $130 that was originally paid and still have not heard from them again...
Extremely poor business experience, no follow up or apology...writing it off as a bad experience.

I started riding at Papillon in Nov 2015 and I'm there at least once a week. I love the place, it's my second home in Sydney:)! The owner is a very warm person and horses have golden hearts. I enjoy the most riding in Centennial Park, with cockatoos flying around, flying foxes hanging from trees, black swans, beautiful lakes and view of Sydney CBD in a distance. It's a MUST DO in Sydney!
