Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was one of the best tours we’ve done during our 2 weeks in Australia. Adam and Debbie are amazing guides, very knowledgeable about the area, happy to share their tips and experiences with everyone, and make it a great day out. The level of thought they have put into this tour is incredible, making sure you are safe at all times in what can potentially be a dangerous area (which often catches the other tourists there, without a guide or any knowledge of the area, by surprise). And we even saw three wallabies along the way!

The hike is not the easiest, as the journey back is in particular quite steep, so some level of fitness is required. But there’s plenty of opportunities to stop and take a breath - just make sure to bring enough water. The two stops after the Figure 8 pool offer great views and (on a nice day) a lovely opportunity to swim under a waterfall.

Strongly recommend this friendly, local and off-the-beaten track tour to anyone in Sydney who likes a more active holiday.

Phenomenal day with great guides and amazing scenery. Don’t miss this if you have a free day and like a good hike. Adam and Deb are knowledgeable and friendly and the day was a blast. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

Amazing adventure! Adam is full of knowledge and a contagious adventurous spirit. We essentially had the national park/beach/trails to ourselves as no one seems to know about this place. Highly recommend, this tour was unique and memorable!

The hike, beaches, coastal rocks and pools were great.

The constant interactive commentary on the bus was fine but a bit intense at 7am when many people were alseep.

Hi Tom Thanks for taking the time to leave a review about your experience with us. As a day trip we have commentary and loads of it, as a passionate guide and owner I love to share our Sydney knowledge with our new mates from the moment you jump on the bus. If someone decides have a sleep in the morning, it's probably because they had a big night out! Most people on our trips enjoy the information from the beginning to the end, and we will not stop this information just because someone was sleeping. We actually think it would be a bigger problem if we just put some music on while most people are awake and looking out the window. We drive along the coast and if I was on a day trip I would like to know what I was driving past and looking at. Our trip is very high energy and we don't see the need to change this, as this is who we are. We do offer a late afternoon trip, which is on offer if one has a problem with early morning chats on this experience. So if you're reading this review and thinking of booking, make sure you like a trip with a guide who loves to show and explain what you're looking at, and loves good banter. If you a like a tour that makes you fall a sleep or you wish to sleep, I would suggest that you don't come out with us. Life is very short and so is your visit to Sydney, we make the most of the day from the beginning to the end. You only live once.... Adzy

Adam and Deb were the best people to travel with on this journey to the Figure 8 Pools and the Royal National Park. They're very knowledgeable about the ocean and put safety at their top priority. Their style is to cut down on the unnecessary additions that the other bus tour companies do and jump right into the fun stuff like hiking, exploring, and embracing nature. Adam is very funny and friendly and keeps everyone entertained throughout the day. Listen to the cautions regarding physical fitness- the hike is challenging and sneakers are a necessity. Bring water and food. We had the best day with Barefoot Downunder!!

This is a must do tour while in Sydney. The hike is great and so are the pools. It’s a unique experience getting to see the rock pools and having the opportunity to swim In them with the waves crashing beside you. The entire day is full of excitement and beautiful things to see. The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable about all things Sydney, as well as fun and personable. It was obvious that they genuinely cared about our safety as well as our enjoyment of the day. Both Deb and Adam were charismatic and funny, really enhancing our experience from the moment that we entered the bus. The hike is quite demanding physically, so please remember to pack lots of water and proper running shoes for this experience!

Barefoot Down Under led an incredible tour of the Royal National Park, featuring a hike in to the Figure 8 Pools. This day trip was a genuine local experience provided by locals, whose passion for people and respect for their environment was evident from the very start.

Adam and Deb couldn't have been better guides - they were extremely friendly, knew the answer to any possible question you might have, and were full of insider tips and tricks on Sydney life. Deb safely operated our bus while providing helpful support, and Adam kept a smile on my face all day long by keeping the jokes cracking! Both were patient, providing all guests with equal time and attention and made sure everyone was well-informed and felt safe.

I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether you are a solo traveler or in a group. This is great bang for your buck - an excellent way to support a 'dynamic duo' pair of local business owners who aim to highlight the beauty of their surroundings in as sustainable a way as possible.

Adam = best tour guide I've ever had! Informative, hilarious, & super friendly! I couldn't recommend enough the barefoot down under figure of 8 pools tour enough. The scenery and views are unreal and with Adam as your guide you'll get a real insight in to the flora and fauna aswell as the history of the site! We laughed from beginning to end so if you've got a good sense humour you'll definitely enjoy spending a day filled with Adams jokes!

We went on another tour to blue mountains with a different company the day after and we were so under whelmed. The tour guide didn't really care and the group was too big to personally connect with anyone. A complete contrast to Barefoot Down Under tours where it's a small group where you can all chat and make friends and the tour guide wants to genuinely
know about you too.

Basically if your ever in Sydney go find Adam!!
